GREAT WAKERING @ PRINCES PARK TUESDAY
« on: October 14, 2007, 12:32:14 PM »

In theory we took around 40% of the normal support we have at P.P. to Bromley (400+) as the attendance at Bromley was just over 1,000 and they average around the 625 mark, so lets make sure that most of our 400+ away fans which included some new fans (as suggested from the notes on this site) all try and make it to P.P. on Tuesday to push us over the 1,000 mark, as I don't expect to see many G.W. fans making the trip.

That plus the additional vocal support we enjoyed at Bromley, should mean we will start to generate the same sort of support at home as we do away, given that P.P. does not have the best acoustics, so lets make up for the poor amplification on the terraces with lots more fans singing the Darts praises and increasing the volume that way.

Right from the start lets beat the bogey at P.P. that has seen so many poor performances at home from players and fans and get behind the team right from kickoff just as we did at the Hastings & Camberley games away and as we did at Bromley yesterday.

Sing from the sidelines , sing from the seated area, but most important sing from behind the goal, if The Duke can sing and we can suffer it, then anyone can sing never mind the wallflowers around you.

COME ON YOU DARTS, WALKING DOWN THE PRINCES ROAD, DARTFORD DARTFORD, I'LL WALK 500 MILES, ETC. and for those so inclined which means even Wes  behind the goal the odd rendition of
yes you've guessed it OH WHEN THE DARTS COME MARCHING IN slow pace then go for it after the first chorus.

My son Chris is having to go into hospital tomorrow (Monday 15) to have a kidney removed. He's also expected to be coming home on Saturday. So we won't be able to make either the GW or Hornchurch matches, unfortunately. So sing just that little bit louder for us both, won't you? It'd be nice to hear the singing from the DV Hospital! Sod the NIMBY neighbours xwhis xnod :-D

I am entirely in agreement with you Trev, but I somehow think a wet (just checked the forecast :-( ) tuesday nite is not the best chance for our first 1000+ home gate of the season, not that I wouldn't like to see it. That said, the more 'newbies' we can get to the ground on a tuesday nite the more chance we have of them spreading the word and getting them back (with friends) on a saturday afternoon.

HEARTILT AGREE TREVb !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ive still got a sore throat from yesterday despite the copius amounts of bitter poured down it followed by a " hot indian "

the key at home is to get ALL the singers in ONE CLOSE AREA [ good excuse for a cuddle } behind the goal and then we can maximise the noise as in away games when the SHEDS are much smaller than the spacoius PP

PLEASING BIT FOR ME IS THAT THERE ARE NOW LOTS OF LADS THAT ARE JOINING THE CHOIR AND THEY ARE VERY WELCOME AND OCNTRIBUTING A GREAT DEAL OF EXTRA NOISE

bromley may have won the match yesterday but their team got nothing from the fans , i know [ cause ive got connections !!] that our lads appreciate the support[ noise] we make and the 98% of positive support they get from the comments on the web

my old mum used to say if you aint got anything nice to say then dont f.....g [ no she didnt swear thats my addition !!] say it  !!!!!!!!!

also

the real kadi starts on tuesday , just remember he aint match fit so needs a few games to get into the swing so be supportive , cream always rises to the top !!!!!

gotta go, cars to watch and need to keep the duchess sweet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

see you ALL at PP on tuesday

Ah first there are train spotters now car watchers!

Anyone not enjoying the big match atmosphere needs a good old talking to! When we eventually play teams like Bromley in a league situation then that sort of crowd and atmosphere will be the norm! Remember yesterday everyone because its what we want week in week out. The team will have to perform consistantly from here, that will lead to success, we all want some of that now don't we.

For now we will have to be glorious failures, brave but no win, use that as an incentive to make it a win next time, learn from it.

i have already posted on another thread how good GWR james white is.we have to have someone on the right playing very well to keep the ball away from him.if james white is not playing at least conference level in two seasons my name is gunga din.
GWR are very well organised and tight and will play like we did at bromley ie no frills and will not take gambles,we will have to be patient but the goals should come.my guess is that their full backs will tire as the game goes on and this is where we can win the game.the central defenders are quite quick and decent players.up front they are not good finishers but the forwards keep battling away .we should be to good for them at the back but we should keep an eye on their frontman they call scouse.

May I echo The Dukes best wishes for Chris, we will endeavour to get the singing at the level required to reach Darenth Valley as requested Honky.

As to The Duke sitting watching the car whilst The Duchess washes it, I'll let you keep in her good books this time and read it as you doing the washing and her sitting with a glass of wine, feet up, cracking the whip (no better delete that bit, don't want Dukey getting excited) whilst you make sure you can get away for Tuesday. xwhis

Dear Gunga Din, I sense there is a spring in your step since your wish came true and we went out of the cup.

Anyway, we are on the brink of roughly our 5th? home evening game at PP. I think evening games have a different atmosphere and with still air, noise always sounds louder.

Many people ask why we put so much importance to the 'singing'. It is a signature of DFC - just look at Bromley's pathetic offering yesterday - it sets us apart. Additional to that, it really does give the team a lift. We saw that at Bromley yesterday. I firmly believe, if we (the singing contingent) had not stepped up a gear after their penalty rebound goal, the heads could have dropped and the score could have been 3 or 4.

I am sure PP can be a cauldron of noise. Let's get it going on Tuesday. I think we are going to thump someone soon.... very soon....

Oh yes no Jay May, well its wether to start young Tom or not, if not then we play 4-5-1.

                                       Kessie

Coyley              Guesty             Flanners        Norman

Hayes         Eddie          Kadi      O Brien        Greenie

                            Cassie.

O Brien the terminator, Kadi the playmaker, Eddie the att midfielder, with Ryan and Greenie getting down the flanks!

Kebabsie, surely it is Flannie, Normie, Hayesey, and Obie.

I think we'll Moore than likely see Moorie in the starting XI rather than Hayesie. I would have thought Eddie will play just off Cassie and it will be time for Sexy Footie!

Whoever plays - they'll all have the same song.

I'm coming to the game from Southend on tuesday with at least 2 Wakering fans, they were going to hire a coach but thought a taxi would be more suitable until i offered to drive them as it will be a new ground for me. I did visit Watling Street but to watch Southend play Maidstone.

I'm bringing my son and step son from Essex so you'll have 3 Southend fans and 2 from Wakering to help boost(?) the attendance.

How much is it to get in and if i can't get parked at the ground how much is parking elsewhere?
