Afc Hornchurch FA Trophy Sat 20 Oct 07 @1500
« on: October 17, 2007, 02:43:42 AM »

Another game, another cup! This one has a Wembley final.

We go there as the underdogs but with a fine squad of players. We can dig in and cause them problems. Confidence should be high after our midweek win.

I predict a score draw and another top atmosphere.

Come on you Darts.

I notice that their record isn't great this season:
W4 D3 L3 GF14 GA15
So a consistently average and not terribly high-scoring side. Perhaps I should feel a bit more confident about this match than the Bromley one. After all, this is the sort of team we've got to be looking to beat if we DO get promoted this year.

Just been speaking to Hornchurch.

Airhorns, drums, confetti, wooden rattles all OK.

6 disabled spaces put aside,  Eagle, have booked you one, someone else already has one booked. If anyone else needs one please e-mail Hornchurch direct

Smoking OK, except indoors.

Drink OK around the bar area and outside the bar, but not within the stadium area

Plenty of burgers and beer, they also do steak sandwiches!

Jeremy - have warned the Mayormobile may roll up

Not sure where to stand then the East side is noisy, the Riverside (dugouts) is the family area

They anticipate about 1000, hopefully same amount as last week for us.

Cheers

Paul

Please under estimate us - we love that!  This season we have beaten Chelmsford, Hendon and Hastings (first, second and sixth in the Ryman Prem league table).  SkyBet has you at 4/1 to win.  Mind you, we are a cr*p pub team from Essex so you will walk it.  Hope as many of you as possible can make the trip to witness your emphatic victory.  You will all be most welcome.

The last time I was at Hornchurch, I bumped into the man beast Dimitri Kharine. Was a nice club house if I remember rightly.

Yes we do have a running track and flatpack stands - and the best Clubhouse bar none!  We are all looking forward to a great contest.  No matter how many fans you bring you will not outsing the famous "Eastside".  The bar usually opens at 11.00 a.m. so come early and stay late.  We are showing the Rugby Final in the evening on our large screen plasma TV's.

I think we'll be leaving Princes Park at 12.30 and probably leaving at 5.45 (enough time to get back to the ground for the Rugby - a pint for £1 with the voucher in the Dartford Messenger)
