Wingate and Finchley Thread - Saturday 3rd November 07
« on: October 31, 2007, 06:58:50 PM »

From http://wiki.dartfordfootballclub.co.uk

The Harry Abrahams Stadium Summers Lane Finchley London N12 OPD

Telephone: 020 8446 2217 or 0798 372 1449

Fax: 020 8343 8194

The nearest Underground station is West Finchley Station (Northern Line - High Barnet branch). The station is a 10/15 minute walk away from the Ground. Alternatively go to East Finchley Station and get a bus heading North towards Barnet. Get off at Summers Lane just past the Warner Village Complex.

The simplest way to get to The Harry Abrahams Stadium is to get on to the A406 North Circular Road.

-If coming from the West (eg via M1), go past Henlys Corner (taking the left fork after the traffic lights) and then drive for about 1 mile. The exit to take is the one immediately after a BP garage. Take the slip road and then turn right at the lights onto the A1000…

-If coming from the East (eg via A10, M11) take the A1000 turn off. At the end of the slip road turn left at the lights. Go straight over the next set of lights…

Then after 100m pass through another set of lights, then at the next set of lights turn right into Summers Lane. The Abrahams Stadium is a few hundred metres down on the right hand side.

Assuming that he starts, Kess will make his 100th start for the club.

It looks very much like Mark Green is out tomorrow with a possible broken hand/wrist (see Tony's notes).

I thought it was Harold Abrams?

Hope to make this one tomorrow along with Mrs C for her first ever away game.

Tomorrow also happens to be our 17th Wedding Anniversary - What a treat.

Or Yohance on the left, and Ryan on the right. Or Eddie (if fit) on the left, and Ryan on the right.

The possibilities are endless!

A shame about Greeny; I think he's been great this season.

On the plus side ...

                          Kessell

  Coyle         Guest         Flanagan          Norman

  Hayes        Kadi           O'Brien           McLements

                  Cass            May

Subs: Bradbrook, Lewis, Moore, Osbourne ....

Doesn't look too bad does it?

Banksy, if you are coming, looks to me like your best bet would be to continue right round the M25 clockwise to the South Mimms junction wiith the A1(M) (M25 junction 23/A1(M) junction 1) and then head down the A1081/A1000 through Whetstone (more detailed directions from there on the website). Hope you make it!

I am very sorry to hear about Green's injury. Although I'm not his greatest fan (I prefer creativity on the flanks) there is no doubt he puts his heart and soul to the cause and works so hard for the team.

Personally I hope this opens the door for Yo Lewis to be given a chance. He looks very comfortable on the ball and has quick feet. Just the sort of player we need to surprise another team that have an undefeated home record.

With Eddie available too I expect TB will just fit him into the side instead of Lewis.

Wingate and Finchley has not been the most welcoming of places in the past (being shushed because of the bridge tournament springs to mind). Unless things have changed it's canned beers behind the bar only with not to be sold seperately written around the rim - you should expect to pay the best part of £3 for a can.

Fork in the sugar bowl at the tea bar and don't dare ask for a burger at the ABRAHAM stadium.
