Edgware on Tuesday
« on: November 03, 2007, 07:52:20 PM »

Well done today lads, fantastic result.

Now for the big one on Tuesday night against the mighty Edgware Town. I must admit i saw Edgware play against Canvey and Sudbury last month and realise that they are far superior to us, but we must not be too downhearted, we can do it.

The Edgware defence has only let in 4 goals this season, so we'll obviously be happy to settle for a 0-0 draw at best, but i would personaly be happy with a 1-0 defeat as i realise their attack has much more skill than Cass and May. Oh well, we can only do our best can't we.

Up the greens darts

Ahhh, my cover's been blown.

Unfortunately we don't have the same sort of support as you so there will only be about 25/30 of us there on Tuesday night. We are really playing well though, and as you're having a bit of a good run it should be a cracking game with a great atmosphere. It's not often that a club like ours plays in front of 900 people, can't wait!!!

You may know that Edgware nearly went kapput in the summer when the local council gave the go-ahead for flats to be built on our ground, but we have been given a couple more years, so we are looking to go out in a blaze of glory.

We don't have a reserve team this season and the players are playing for virtually bugger all, but we have massive spirit, a great coaching team and a fair amount of skill.

This is what is great about non-league football. No diving, no 'simulation' and no blaming the referee for losing (most of the time).

I've seen some pictures of your ground (you lucky sods) and my stomach will have butterflies on the journey over on Tuesday.

COME ON YOU 'WARES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You will be made very welcome on tuesday nite Smiles. Sadly we have not been getting the 900+ crowds on cold tuesday nites, you might have to make do with a crowd of 700. But they will be a noisy 700, especially when Brendan and Jay start running your defence ragged :-D xbow xbow

Ok, i'll give the 50-50 a go.

So the council build you a brand new 5000 capacity stadium with cover all round and a grass roof..........but no burgers.

Oh well, maybe i'll try the pizza.

Prediction. 1-2  xnod

What a great way of celebrating the first anniversary at Princes Park (against Waltham Abbey on Saturday) than to beat Edgware Town on Tuesday night, and climb to the top of the Ryman League Division One North table.

Never thought I'd be speaking to Tony Burman about a top-of-the-table clash against EDGWARE TOWN !!!

Should be a cracker - so make sure all Darts fans are at Princes Park on Tuesday night!

UP THE GREEN'S !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some say it's the meat of posters who have tried to wind up the mighty Darts!
Some say it's the leftovers of opposing defenders who have hung up their boots after playing against the best strike force in the league!
All we know is it ain't bloody well chicken and mushroom!

Constructive criticism?? Don't get it. If it's still criticism, how is it constructive?

As for the match, who knows what to expect, Edgeware there on merit, its up to us as the home team to break them down, they did have a rest Saturday but that counts for little as we are going for win 7 on the trot, confidence high etc. Not sure the crowd will be any higher than 800 to be honest, it is midweek! Depends if the 'floaters' bother to turn up really!

Super match to look forward to though, the winners will be top of the league! We have been waiting for a night like this for ages so full commitment on and off the pitch please!

Our first birthday game next Saturday, foget it for now, its Tuesday that is the big one, come on the Darts!
