Just thought I might put a " black man " in a wood pile re league positions. It's highly probable that Edgware will maintain their present form until the end of the season in which case they will only lose at most 3 to 4 games. We have already lost 3 games so it's also likely that we are at best playing for 2nd place and that only if we have a long unbeaten run. My crystal balls have unfortunately had a severe loss of power since last Saturday so I am unable to confirm this week exactly how many points Ware and Brentwood will accumulate but they did warn me that these teams could keep Dartford out of the play-off positions if the latter team doesn't start playing better.

I hope this is of assistance.

Banksy87, whereas I don't like you letting off at the mouth about predicting wins, I can only agree with you, that we are going to win this division.
Cos me old mucker, being a Darts supporter, it's the only way we should look at it.
Even if we are 3 points off the bottom, the only way to look at it is that we are going to WIN.
Even if we got relegated, I would still say 'We should have won it'

But then I have been receiving medical treatment for quite a while. Good on you son.

I used to be a pessimist too Archie, and like you I knew that everything was always terrible and failure was inevitable. I knew that foolish optimists who used things like facts and evidence to come to reasonable conclusions were just kidding themselves.

One day though, I woke up and realised ... what right do we have to assume that terrible miserable failure are exclusively ours to behold. As you so rightly know, the world is an awful place with no hope of success and no place for optimism. This was not just confined to Dartford FC, hell no ... surely it applies to every club, even the mighty Edgeware ... and indeed every person on earth.

That being the case, it occurred to me that just because we had an awful manager like Tony Burman, (a man who has never won the Premiership or managed an international side ... not even Wales!), I had no right to assume that our failure at DFC would be the biggest and best. In fact, being such a pessimist realist, I knew we would probably be rubbish at failing too! All the other teams were bound to be better at messing things up than we were as we can't do anything right. Knowing our luck, we'll probably be so bad at being rubbish that by some quirk of fate we'll end up being the least worst team in the division and champions by default.

We won't deserve it of course, but at least you will be able to console yourself in the knowledge that we couldn't even fail properly!

Look on the bright side ... we will then be promoted (think of it as upwardly relegated if you like) into a higher division where your highly tuned negativity will surely find a whole new world to explore.

I'm sure that will make your day.

Just thought I would add a few details about the local area for saturday. Watch where you park - there is an EU surplus of traffic wardens  :police: located in Barkingside and they are spotted regularly on Saturdays. There is a large car park at the top of Barkingside high street near the Fairlop Oak Pub (Fullwell Cross). Its then a 5 minute walk to the ground. There are also free parking spaces on Baron Gardens. If you want a bite to eat before the game you must visit MARINOS CAFE on the high street (From the ground walk up Baron Gardens - Left at the lights and its on your left). Ali does a great range of food and the SET Breakfast is particularly recommended xnod.

See you on saturday.

Seems as though this will be a difficult game to pick up three points today. I'm certain TB will have the lads up for it even if there is as many as 6 regulars missing. Even so, Redbridge must be a half decent outfit as, if I'm right, they've only lost a couple of league games so far. A win would be a great result.

Was it the Duke whose rattle got broken somewhen? I remember reading about it a while back but can't remember who it was that mentioned it.

It might be a bit of a coincidence coz I've recently moved house and when I was emptying my shed I came across a belter of a rattle. It's the loudest little beauty I've ever heard and my grandfather made it for me when I was still at school in the early 60's. I can remember clearly that it made it's 'debut' at St James Park, Exeter in the Cup when Alf Ackerman was player manager. It's still in it's original black & white livery and still makes a racket. If you'd like it Duke (if you're the man!) as a replacement, it's yours mate. I'm sure it will be of use to make a bit of extra noise in amongst the choir! I'd like to see it used again. I'll be coming down to PP soon and I'll bring it with me if you're interested.

IOW Exile, It was Dukes rattle that got broke. I am sure that he would be interested in the replacement, especially as it's in the club colours :-D :-D :-D xbow xbow
