Home to Enfield Town- Saturday 1st December
« on: November 28, 2007, 04:17:04 PM »

When a team is top of its form and confident you tend to let them worry about you rather than you worry about them, but we all know tony does have teams watched so there there is no harm in knowing something about your oponent.
I watched them play arlesey recently and i was far more impressed with arlesey than enfield.i read recently that the enfield manager was not happy with the season so far and he had four new players lined up.I dont know if he has got them.Clearly Enfield Town are not as good as when we played them two seasons ago. They are still a decent team and very well organised.
They have a number of ex Waltham Forest players. Not great at the back, i dont think Simon Tinkner can live with Jays strength. They have a brute of a centre forward with no pace but excelent in the air.Our central defenders be prepared for a battle. They have Rudi Hall in centre mid who still pulls all the strings and is a wily old fox,i would man mark him for sure but i realise that changes the way we play so at the very least i would make all our players to wary of him and it is essential he is ginen no time on the ball.
Their keeper Charlie Hasler is ex Waltham Forest and is a disaster waiting to happen i think he will appreciate the BANTER behind the goal

Just a normal home league game or a crunch match?

Its a PP game and confidence must be good after Tuesday, putting a run together will do wonders now, everyone cheer the lads on!

Tougher match imho but one we can win, time to announce our intentions me thinks.

Should have a bigger Saturday crowd as well, good luck to all.

Having missed my first league home game on Tuesday (urggh!!) the wife and I are coming up for this one.  Enfield appear to be one of the unpredictable teams in this league, so we need to be prepared for a tricky encounter.

We could do with another winning sequence to consolidate our position (is that what you mean by a "time to announce our intentions", Kebabus?

Hope to see you Saturday, Pete Sampson, if you're coming down from the frozen north.

This I feel is a real six pointer--not sure many people expected us to drop points Tuesday but no point scoring 7 and then not doing the biz this Saturday!

I remember them to be workmanlike with a little bit of flair but we beat them up there quite comfortably early in the season but lost at Stonebridge Rd when we were having our Spring wobbles.

We are top of the league so lets throw down a marker as no-one has really done this in the division this year and go on a run and put some daylight between us and the rest of the league! Some big games coming up with Brentwood (very poor quite frankly from what ive seen), Maldon & Canvey (seen them this year and they look pretty useful!) on the horizon so lets build some momentum  starting this Saturday!

1000+ if their lot turn up perhaps?!? Up the Darts

enfield will be a tough nut to crack as they are a hard side who also put it about a bit [ not unhappy about that] and we need to be solid at the back

we did beat them at their place last time we were in the RLN1, it was an evening game [ i was there] and we won 1-0 courtesy of a jimmy carter goal but the MOTM was kevin hudson who was fantastic and the reason why we won !!!!!!!!!!!!!

i hope our guys just play football as the results will come

lets repeat, from the start , the noise from tuesdays choir which will give the guys a lift

If we are going to stamp some authority onto this league now is the time to do it.

Surely we'd be better off waiting until 3pm tomorrow?  :-D

This I feel is a real six pointer

I've checked with the Ryman league, definitely only 3 points for this one !

Cant a man talk in footballing cliches once in a while Ron?

I will be 'over the moon' hopefully at 16-45pm tomorrow and saying 'the boyz done good' after a Dartford victory.

All thats surely left to say now is the famous footballing rallying cry of 'COME ON BOYZ HEY!'

I was disappointed to see from TB's notes this morning that Phil Williams has got the flu. If he's got anything like my wife's had for most of this week, he definitely won't be starting tomorrow, which would be a shame.  :-(  :-( I don't know who'd take his place since JK and Greenie still don't sound fully fit. :-(  Ditto Ozzie and Guesty, but in their case, I guess Richard A could slip back into their slot quite easily.  :|. We can't really afford not to have our best squad out tomorrow, but if there's no choice, I guess those who do start will have to dig in even harder. I can't remember when I last saw the Dart's win at home, and I don't want to wait any longer!!!!

So c-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-m-e on y--o-o-o-o-o-u D-a-a-a-a-a-a-rts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you are right HH if we are to get 3 points tomorrow every player will have to dig in for the full duration of the game, there seems to be no fear that they will suprise us as tony has mentioned how tough they will be in his notes.come on darts play to your full potential with confidence and do the business

If Phil doesn't play (which seems unlikely from TB's notes) then surely Yo Lewis would be a straight replacement for him?  Likewise (as you say) Richard Avery or John Guest if Ozzy's unfit.

The current squad now has cover in all areas HH, so personally, I'm less worried than ever about the lack of replacements.
