Why the conspiracy theories?

It rained.

The pitch was waterlogged.

The game was called off in good time to prevent MOST people making the journey.

Martin your losing your sense of humour, maybe too much poker, no conspiracy just Coney suggesting that Brentford benefited by not catching us playing at peak form, otherwise nothing I can see other than suggestions that they will lose out on attendance with a midweek game.

We travelled early as always to get there and have a drink and a chat, thus as I left at 12.00, picked up The 5th at 12.15 The Duke at 12.30 and Terry 12.45 we missed the news of game off, but were back at P.P. around 2.00p.m. for that drink then watched the under 21's.

Martin did you win?

Blimey I will leave the tongue in cheek remarks to the Duke in future

Don't we all get a bit ratty when we don't get our fix?

Trevor - I haven't won for a long, long time and thankfully my happiness does not depend on winning card games!! I simply wouldn't play!

Whenever a game is called off some people suggest the possibility of sculduggery, and if it gets played - the home club get accused of raking in money because the Darts are coming to town.

I am looking forward to the re-scheduled midweek game and with their fixture backlog already lengthy - hopefully they will struggle with their fitness due to the intensity of their matches and that will give us another edge against them.

Brentwood would have been far keener to play the game than us because they are already a long way behind with their fixtures. Personally I would rather have seen the match postponed than end up playing a farcical game like the one last year at Sittingbourne (V Maidstone).

Like Rambo, I ended up going, with my son Matt, to watch Waltham Forest get outclassed by Sudbury (0-3). It was a walk in the park for Sudbury who completely dominated the game. Unfortunately Rambo, I don't know who you are ... Matt and I probably stood next to you and didn't know it! Anyway, Sudbury only had about 30 fans at the game but they were good fun and made a hell of a lot of noise.

One thing of interest though ... the first few Sudbury fans through the gate told us that they paid £7 then it suddenly went up to £8. Matt and I spoke to some of the visiting fans who felt cheated and decided to boycott buying a program or spending any more money at the ground. Sound familiar? Clearly Waltham Forest haven't learned any lessons since our recent visit. Why don't they just make it £8 and be done with it? Nobody would mind if they thought they were all paying the same but you can't charge different amounts for the same game and expect people not to be suspicious.
