am I the only one worried about the surface at PP --despite the apparant lush grass covering the ball does not run smoothly on it and bobbles about all over the place when trying to play the ball on the deck--a lot of Phil's game is running at the opposition with the ball under control--he's often beaten by the pitch or loses his footing--iI'm not sure what the problem is---is the grass at PP too long ??

Yes i agree Johnj2 i thought the grass looked too long today as well.

a very strange game.wivenhoe were allowed to score twice but by then we should have got at least 3.they kept throwing their bodies in the way and i hope theie spirit grabs a few points against our rivals.
i agree with tld there was not a lot of difference in our play in the two halfs.we were better in the second half though ,why, in the first i dont think jay and brendon put the required effort in and the two wingers were tucked in a bit instead of hugging the touch line. when the forwards had the ball they either could not give it back to the wide men because they were to close or they were greedy and prodded the ball forward aimlessly.in the second half they both pushed wider and things opened up for jay and brendon ( and i would be suprised if tony didnt tell them to buck their ides upat half time)
ryan was totally brilliant and he looks like creating something every time he is on the ball.phill w needs a confidence boosting goal but his runs are invaluable.i think the wingers brilliance hid the deficiances of our centr mid play.
as for motm ,a close thing between ryan and coyle.i think i have to go for coyle because when he gets to the ball i feel confident that the ball will go where it should do.jamie coyle is a bloody good footballer

Thought we played well , so I don't know why anyones complaining about the performance :?

Kess pulled out a couple of great saves today, but the two goals wivenhole got lucky with. First was a major miskick by Eddie and the 2nd was a break away after about our 2000th attempt to get the ball over the line by walking it in. We had everyone up the pitch cause that's where the ball was 99% of the time.
Those wivenhoe bous have got massive toes. :-D

Yes John, the pitch has been crap all season, and seems very patchy. Does it come with a warranty or have we mis-treated it. Needs a good rolling if you ask me.

why do people shout stupid comments at the players after 20 mins, give them a chance FFS.

Well done to Wivenhoe they gave us a really good game,Wivenhoe have improved a great deal from when we played them at the beginning of the season they just kicked lumps out of us and were lucky not to have a couple of players sent off.I thought we played ok in the first half created a lot of chances as did Wivenhoe if it was not for both goalkeepers it could have been 4-4 at half time, the 2 saves from Kessie in the first half and the one at the begining of the second half were outstanding.Totally agree with The Last Dictator why boo and jeer the team of at half time totally brainless and the same goes for the ones who were getting on Phil's back they are idiots, yes he can be frustrating but he can also  be brilliant so we need to get encourage him and he will be a great asset to the Darts. As for Cassie what a player 18 goals in 19 games King of the Ryman League xbow.My man of the match is Tony Kessell just in front of Cassie.

For a change, I wasn't worried at the fact we were 2-1 down at half time. For the first time for a long time I was confident we would win. No disrespect to Wivenhoe, I'm sure they will have a few wins in the not too distant future. What I found worrying was, it took us 72 minutes to get the equaliser, i was beginning to bite my nails.
I thought that if Phil had taken those early chances it would have been all over in 15 minutes. But credit to their Keeper, who I thought was fouled for our third to the point where he got himself booked. But then he seemed to throw the ball into the back of the net for Jamie's header. So I feel that we run our luck yesterday, a better team would have just shut up shop once they were ahead.
My man of the match again was Coyle, he's brilliant lately, very efficient at the back, and to pop up with a goal today as well. But one has to say that Cassie is only getting what he deserves this season after all his hard work, he just can't stop scoring.
I just wish after all his pacey runs, Phil would actually score. And as for the 'half way line moaners' well I didn't hear one today. Must be the season of good will.

I have to agree, TLD: the only thing "wrong" with the first half performance from where I was on in line with the edge of the penalty area was how we managed to fail to put away so many good chances. The match could have been all over in the first 30 minutes - but it wasn't. So fair do's to the Darts: they (and we) knew that all that was needed was the patience to continue playing as we were, and it would all turn out right in the end - as it did. Good professional, heads-down, sleeves-rolled-up job. Well done to all concerned.

An okay performance yesterday, we were stood next to a couple of Wivenhoe fans and they said they were playing out of their skins.  They stated quite correctly that they were playing at top gear and it looked like we were only playing in second gear and they said at half time they were going to lose.

Anyway disappointed again with the central midfield, again gave away far too much ball.  Ryan was in a class of his own and he edged the MOM from Coyle and Cass.  Onwards and upwards, good time to Maldon next week after there hammering yesterday.

Firstly, all credit to Wivenhoe for their gutsy performance yesterday. We had a few pre match postings warning of dangers ahead, following their management changes and a few recent signings. They took the game to us at every opportunity and showed a strong desire to get something out of the match. Coming out for the 2nd half 5 minutes early made a strong statement -  that they had the lead and intended to do all they could to keep it that way.

What pleased me most was our response. Teams win leagues not just by strengths up front, in midfield or in defence, but through belief, and we showed belief in abundance during the 2nd 45 minutes. Kessie's great save wthin a few minutes of the re-start was critical, all the team showed real commitment, and several players upped their game to the top level.

Well done TB and the team. We will win this league.

OB was solid at the back and gave everything (as usual), quite the opposite as phil williams who showed no intrest in the game at all, but he can become a much better player with some good luck.

I must have left my contact lenses at home then......................

Dad and I felt that the script we thought would happen at 2:30 yesterday didn't. It should have been wrapped up early on and when early chances weren't taken things began to fall apart a bit.

A number 10 like Wivenoe's would be an asset to the Darts - I don't feel that Eddie is cutting the mustard at the mo, however for a while, I thought Ryan Hayes wasn't -  but he has recovered his form, so I'm more than willing to be proved wrong!!!!

Things in the early 2nd half weren't much better, but we got the two goals we needed. Credit to Wivenhoe for still playing up to the end.

But and this is a big BUT if we go down 2-1 at half time to the bottom team who have not won a game what going to happen in the next few games?
