well done darts yesterday for excellent win canvey were poor and we were quiet with singing yesterday but canvey but be very poor without a drum as that made all their noise
no doubt we will outsing them at theirs in easter.
phil will get a goal very soon maybe in sat game against aveley which will be hard.
ps thanks duke for ur drink and good crowd yesterday with few more women there for once impressive

I must admit your one 4 worded song was very good. At home you wont outsing us myfriend. nobody has yet and we intend to keep that up.

ok then well prove it without using any help of a drum and a straght singing contest between sets of fans

haha if you want mate. Look forward to your visit. What you have to remember is you have alot more fans then we do. you are going to be louder. but in terms of the amount of songs you sing and the situations you sing them in you were poor. Fair play anyway. nice to go to a ground like that time to time and nice to have fans who bother to sing in the first place.

Good luck for the rest of the season.

Dear Mini-Goose,

What you fail to realise is that the Darts Choir were probably singing all the time, it's just that you weren't listening properly.

On an earlier thread we discussed various tunes that could be played to celebrate goals scored.

As a result you were probably one of the first groups of away fans lucky enough to hear the Darts version (Acapella that is) of John Cage's 4 Minutes and 33 Seconds.

Constructive criticism?? Don't get it. If it's still criticism, how is it constructive?

To be fair to Canvey they did sing more than the Dartford choir although on the whole it was a very drab atmosphere. Just good to hear some opposition fans sing for a change.

Im not gonna lie i thought you were loud when you sang but like i said that wasnt often and im not the only canvey fan saying that. you ask any Dartford fans further down our end and they would tell you that we sang quite a bit. not all the time. but we did sing which you must respect considering the scoreline. I dont want to get this into an arguement or anything but all im gonna say is fair play. you have vocal support which i got to respect. just think you could sing a bit more often. We could hear you when you sing and it was loud. So if you were singing then i would be able to hear you.

Which brings me to my point that you didnt sing as much as ive heard. big test is when you come and visit the lane.

Mini-Goose

I said much earlier in a post on this topic pre-match.

Quote
The Canvey fans will probably give us a good run for our money at home in terms of singing, we all know that the choir is  only half as good at home as away, due to the atmospherics, ground layout etc but lets give it our best.

What I do know is that come the return visit to Canvey albeit a midweek fixture, we should have upwards of 200+ fans travelling as we near the end of the season and hopefully see both teams in contention for promotion and nobody sings like our supporters at the away matches so bring it on.

I didn't realise that the game was on a Bank Holiday so I would expect nearer 250 on the day to travel.

Princes Park for what ever reasons just doesn't seem to suit us for singing at length, but rest assured away from home and especially if we are in a stand, the singing is non-stop and at a high volume so let the battle commence as I'm far too old to exaggerate. xnod

mini gooses post is fair

we seem to get split into two sections either side of the goal and as trevB commented on the day the spectator gap seems to have a split effect on us and at times each section was singing a different dart song also the accoustics at PP do NOT lend to maximum noise

i like away games for singing as we are the underdogs and all get huddled together until the corrugated tin stands and the atmosphere is great and we really feel as though we are the 12th man  !!!!

i thought the canvey guys sang well but as ity went 3 then 4 then 5 then 6 it diminished which is hardly suprising !!!!

suggest canvey cock an ear the aveley way tomorrow as with a fair wind they will probably hear us but if NOT then they see us in full voice at their place later in the season

Only if we can tape up the mouths of the first 50 your singers through the gate at Park Lane!

Your stadium is fantastic, but has not been built for atmosphere. I'm sure you'll make plenty of noise at our place, and it'll be up to the Mighty Yellow Army to drown you out  :-D

You're best bet will be to cram as many as you can under one of these sheds, we make a tremendous racket under there:

If we are still challenging etc then another 'Hastings' type atmosphere is a cert, we do respect rival fans! We will probably take more than 300 to the Island! (You will hear the Darts fans loud and clear), AFC Wimbledon said we were the loudest away fans when we went there 2 seasons ago and that was a midweek game!

Personally I think we (canvey) were the quietest we've been all season. But that was mainly due to the minutes of total silence from the  "Dartford choir". Hopefully you will come down to Canvey, and next time give us a real singing contest. I for one will look foward to it.
