I thought that Coyley, Eddie and Phil had very good games and if TB had left him on for a bit longer Phil would have got my MOM vote.

TB wasn't at the game xwhis xwhis

Credit where it's due; I noticed that Alex O'Brien was named Man of the Match by the Witham reporter in yesterday's NLP. Unfortunately I couldn't get to the game, but reading that and seeing a few of the comments on here, it sounds like he had a good game.
I know I've been critical of his performances recently, so well done for Saturday OB  xtip

Keep it going, and nothing would give me greater pleasure than seeing him lift the League Championship trophy at the end of the season!

I look around the squad and I see genuine matchwinners in Eddie Mac, Phil & Ryno on the flanks and Cassie & Jay up top.

At the back in Flanners we have a no nonsense centre half who can play a bit and mop up the odd Guest error and in Coyle we have the best player in the division bar none. (in my humble opinion)

If we keep everyone fit we aint gonna be far away. I felt a bit sorry for Witham as over the 2 games they havent played that badly and yet the aggregate reads 2-11!

I agree wholeheartedly about Witham FC how many times as an away supporter are you actually thanked for turning up at a rival club! Touch of class!

kinda gives you the feeling they don't like us,  don't it?
Banksy, 6-10 goals on Saturday, edging your bets are you? A potential banana skin waiting to happen, even if they are second to bottom.
Still son, I'll be quite happy with the first number mentioned.

Thought it was a great day out on Saturday, and it was a pleasure to spend some money at an away ground, thank you Witham Admin.

The result flattered us a bit, as I thought at times we took our foot of the gas, but we still played reasonably well, just thought that Witham played well enough in the first half to deserve going in level.

Don't get the long ball comments, as I thought we played on the deck mostly, as we didn't have our target man and our wingers were both on form. Phil is really looking better every game and it's obvious that Ryno is back to his best.

We certainly lost something when Phil was replaced, and we started to play the long ball.
MOM was difficult , so I plumped for OB just for the reason that he should mostly go un-noticed in the game, just like a good Ref. If we don't notice his mistakes then he must be doing something right.
Thought Tom didn't do that well, but didn't think he looked his usual terrier like self either. Cassie looked like he was missing Jay as well. But as always he gets a goal just when you think he won't score today, great cross by Kadi.
All in though to me it was a team performance more than individual acheivment, which is  exactly what it takes to win leagues.

well played the keeper, one of the best saves I have ever seen live, and pulled off a couple more to boot.

On the onion front, there was none in my Burger at 3.10 , way before Half time.
Would love a pre-season at theirs, making the most of the bar and barbie, someone get it sorted.

Constructive criticism?? Don't get it. If it's still criticism, how is it constructive?

Thought Tom didn't do that well, but didn't think he looked his usual terrier like self either.

I feel a bit sorry for Tom. He's patiently been waiting his chance, on the bench week in week out, and looking good in his short substitute appearances. But a couple of times when he's started, he looks like he might be trying a bit too hard to impress, and not doing himself justice.

It's a really tough call, but I wonder if a few full games for the U21's might help to sharpen him a bit more, and perhaps give young Dan Westerman a few games on the bench for the first team instead. Tom's such a great prospect, I just hope he doesn't get frustrated sitting on the bench every week.

I think he is doing well.If you look at all levels it works the same Van Persie etc.He goes in comes out reflect be coached and so on.He just needs time and experience and I think he is getting that.He should be patient and I think is.

I think Tom would be better paired with Jay in that Jay drops off and Tom would play on the last man knowing that if Jay gets it then Tom has to make a run and Jay can thread it through similar to what Jay does with Cassie. (in this instance the main reason they were paired together was Jays ban)

Obviously the top 2 Cassie & Jay pick themselves but for me Cassie & Tom a little too similar to play together but Tom has really come on in leaps and bounds take it from one who has played in the same team recently. I think give him another years expereince and another good pre season and with that extra nous next year will be the year fro Tom and anything gained this years goals etc is an added bonus!

I guess it's always the problem when the Reserves don't play midweek. Ideally, all of the first team subs/squad who don't start the previous Saturday would get 90 minutes midweek to stay sharper. It's tought to stay match fit when you are restricted to 10 minutes at the end of games, if you're lucky!
