dovers bubble
« on: January 12, 2008, 07:45:38 PM »

hey guys just spend a minute away from thinking about our tremedous display today and spare a thought for our friends down at dover as they are in the middle of their usual historical  mid season slump which has cost them promotion in past 2 years

same problem, winter pitches , teams who dont co-operate by playing defensively and NOT letting them win ,   coupled with the most desperate luck ever , its just NOT fair that the ryman league didnt switch tooting , cray [ and any other possible threat ] into the RLN1

a few more results like this and it will be a case of hessy OUT nd increasing the number of volunteer samaritan staff in dover to cope !!!!!!

this post is from a dart with a heart !!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are going to get 100 points this season and that came straight from Hessie,I hope they do ,I for one would love to play them next season in the prem ,I think that with all these draws they keep getting that maybe the officials are not adding on enough "Dovertime" although I did hear that they scored in the 23rd minute of "dovertime at Kingstonian last week and then complained that the ref didn't give them time to score a winner, life is such a bitch sometimes!!!

Perhaps you'd like to narrow the postcode down a bit, Duke - after all Knobsfleet Utd have a DA postcode as well! :-D

That was £50,000 well spent, especially if their season goes pants.

I really can't see Dover blowing it this year, so I hope to see two Kentish clubs lifting both the Ryman Division One titles.

It would give me great Schadenfreude if they were to repeat their performance of last year - i.e. miss out on the automatic promotion spot and then lose to a supposedly "inferior" side in the play-offs. But perhaps I should be careful about saying that in case the same thing happens to us this year!!!

You guys make me chuckle - we have lost one league game all season (compared to your five) - how on earth does that mean that our bubble has burst?! We are in 2nd position, two points off Tooting with three games in hand of them. To be honest, I would consider that a pretty healthy position to be in. And of our 4 draws in a row, two have come from away games to Kingstonian and Cray who are again strong this season which I dont necessarily consider a bad result.

Just worry about yourselves.

Steve , totally agree with you. I would love to be in Dover's position, much more than I would ours.
People stop laughing at the solid position of Dover and let's get back to concentrating on keeping our team in the fragile position it is.

Constructive criticism?? Don't get it. If it's still criticism, how is it constructive?

Dont make me laugh - you guys didnt even make the play offs last season so I wouldnt call you the only real threat! 7th wasnt it in the end - surely the other 4 non promoted clubs above you (not including us) were the bigger threats?

Considering how easy all of you guys considered the Ryman North to be when you first moved, you have hardly set the world alight so far.

You're having a laugh aren't you? We're top of the table, with 68 goals in 24 matches (= 2.83 per game), and undefeated in our last 8 games - W6, D2, scoring 36 goals (= 4.5 per game) in the process. I'd say we're setting the (RL1N) world alight now  :-D /smug
