From Our ground sharing days I remember what a good playing surface Stonebridge Road was
but when we moved to Princess Park I thought we had a  pitch to match if not surpass it,
however last night showed just how much our pitch has deteriorated. It would be interesting
to know how many games have been played on each pitch this season, to gauge if we are simply
over using the PP surface or if there are other reasons why our expensive pitch has suffered so badly
in the last few months.

The PP pitch may look patchy but it is divot free and flat as Keira Knightley. Looking at other pitches in our league there is no comparison.

Apart from the great big divot which collapsed in the centre circle and had to be replaced...............................

I have to agree with all the comments on team selection, their performance with mostly youngsters and bench players, Tommy got my M.O.M. although Phil was just as good but us oldun's must stick together xwhis.

The best team won, but as this was expected our consulation was to see an excellent turnout of Darts fans around 500 attending, but sadly not reflected in the official and farcical figure that Ebbsfleet reported.(Add another 300+ to their figure)

Great chants sung to the Ebbsfleet fans with Graham doing his bit to urge the choir onwards.

I've no sympathy for those of you who ventured to taste the delights of the burger van as posts on this subject were made prior to the game and I'm sure you can remember the comments we used to make about the catering when it was a groundshare xnod

Thankfully the cup distractions out of the way now and it's onwards in the league.

I personally never had any probalems with the snack bar facilities in our ground-sharing days. Mind you, I didn't have much basis for comparison, since I see very few away games. Is it the same mobile "caravan", though? My main gripe with them was the high prices (e.g. £1.50 for chips compared to £1.00 at Purfleet/Thurrock). From posts here, it would seem that the prices they charge now are even higher - excessively so? How do they compare with prices at League grounds (Pete Sampson?)?

Hunky Honky,

If the thought of paying £1.50 for chips miffs you a tadge may I suggest that you never, ever, under any circumstances consider buying some food at Wembley Stadium. The old ticker may just give out on you when they ask you to part with a fiver for a cheeseburger (and you can't even get chips on their own - they must be bought as part of a £7-£8 meal)!

Personally I miss the french stick bacon sarnies you used to get across the water, Mmmmmmmmmmmmm! xnod

The pitch was excellent last night, shame its surrounded by a dump. xfinger

I read an interview with their chairman recently, and he mentioned that they had invested in their playing surface.

I wasn't as good when we used to play there,  especially at this time of year.   Although it had three teams using it at the time.  And you just know that those Charlton ladies were not wearing sensible shoes.

Perhaps if the Charlton ladies were allowed to wear stiletto's during games it would save the groundsmen having to fork the pitch when it rains and allow the pitch to drain better. xwhis

Really enjoyed the game, Phil seemed like a man possessed, couldn't belive the amount of running he did my mom.

Surely this is personal and its not fair to broadcast what goes on behind closed doors between Phil and your Mom.
