Dartford v Northwood (Home) Sat 2nd Feb Match Thread
« on: January 28, 2008, 07:46:44 PM »

This Saturday the Mighty Darts play Northwood-who are 11th in the league, at PP. Should be a good game, and i predict a 3-0 win to the darts, and also to carry on our run of attendances over 1000. COYD 8-)

northwood away was one of the poorest darts performances this season and we should have won comfortably but they did score 2 absolute screamers which didnt hekp

northwood were an " in your face side " and never allowed us to settle and we will have to conitnue to be solid at the back and patient but like ALL games in this league will not be easy

we have a score to settle and hopefully our lads will gain revenge for an undoubted unecessary 3 lost points

Agree Duke, away to Northwood was probably the most disappointing game for me so far this season. It's our chance to put that right.

I don't really care what the scoreline is as long as we get all 3pts. A another clean sheet would be great though. COYD

I suspect a similar game to last week. Northwood will probably come and make it tough for us. If we are patient and play to the high standard we have seen throughout this season, then I’m sure we will break them down and gain the 3 points.

Like most teams this year, it will be their first visit to PP, and no doubt they will up for the game. Also they will want to prove that their win earlier in the season was no fluke.

Hopefully we have another 1000+ crowd to urge the team on.

I think Northwood will play a more open game than Arseley, could help us to be honest, still a toughie, we need to be at our best!

I think this is going to be a tight one. I notice Banksy didn't give a score, so I can't hazard a guess. I normally halve his prediction and then divide by three.

The "thrashing" they gave us early in the season will probably make them over confident, with a bit of luck. That will work in our favour.

Personally I feel this might be a draw as both teams will be a bit fearsome of the other. I will be happy with not losing as this is a definite "banana skin"

Constructive criticism?? Don't get it. If it's still criticism, how is it constructive?

I feel a draw will be two pints dropped, especially as we have Sudbury away coming up. Need to win our home games. Dont really care how we do it, but I think we need three points out of this one.

3-2 was hardly a thrashing, but for me it was the most annoying game of the season as they were not a good side. Half their team weren't fit and were suffering from cramp even in the first half! We played rubbish yet still managed to find ourselves 2-1 up before we somehow managed to carelessly throw the game away. I thought it was our worst day this season because had we been anywhere near average we would have won at a canter. I know we lost 4-0 at Ware, but at least they were a good side and on the day we could have no complaints. Northwood may have improved now but at the time we played them they were very poor. We owe them one and I have been looking forward to the rematch for some time as that other game still gives me nightmares.
