ps all us darts fan send our love to canveys assitant manager  to  laugh

I take it that was the tall bald guy who gave a one finger salute followed by a Wan*er sign to the Darts fans at the end of the game. It was when our players were walking off the pitch and we were all singing

I guess he is not used to seeing fans celebrating at Canveys ground and he did not like it one bit.

I think you'll find it was more to do with what was being sung that made him react, IMO it was a bit of light hearted banter that he took exception to.
All in all i thought Canvey looked after us well and seemed a friendly club.

A mention for their ground, not bad at all but at conference level, awful! If that terrace behind the goal had cover then it would beat Arlesey as best away ground in the Essex league!

Finally, we have bought 500 Easter Eggs that will be given out to fans of boths teams before the game and at half time by our mascot "Gulliver" The Gull.
LittleMissGaz (at her first away game) says many thanks to Gulliver for her Easter egg! Yum yum! xnod
She enjoyed the trip - and only stopped singing Dartford songs when she went to bed!

There were burgers and hot dogs available as well. Burgers were not too bad

Definitely not a pretty game of football but three points secured mainly due to a cool finish by Cassie assisted by their keeper and defender to give him the chance, as a dangerous cross came in and the defender collided with the keeper as he punched the ball sending it straight to Cassie to slot in.

The highlight of the game has to be Kessie's save which I hope we have on video for others to see as he flew across the goal full stretch and pushed the ball over the bar, yet again he displayed the alertness when needed whilst not being troubled much for the rest of the game.

Apart from the goal I cannot remember another shot on target to test their keeper as we struggled to find opening, create chances or add to the score, but thankfully our defence made sure we came away with the points with another clean sheet and a super display by Guesty in central defence ably assisted by Coylie, Ossie and Stevie.

Alex won everything that came to him in midfield plus some extra tackles clearing up where others had given the ball away being far too casual, speaking of which Kadi hit a few glorious long passes to the wings, but far more went astray whether they were long or short and not because others couldn't read his intentions but just poorly hit, giving the opposition the chances to break away on counter attacks.

Still overall a defiant display and a commited team effort saw us get the result on the day and my M.O.M. went to Guesty, but Alex was very close behind.

Back to back wins absolutely brilliant! They say its at Easter that titles are decided!

Nothing much more to add to the posters beforehand....although I would like to moan about the kick off time and the fact that Canvey already had an extra day to prepare for the match we then go and give them an extra 2 hours by bringing the game forward to 1pm  having just played a gruelling game against a title rival less than 48 hrs previous....The team must come first and whoever agreed that decision was wrong!...luckily the lads defended brilliantly but you could see were out on their feet at the end of the match!

Reflecting on both games Ware number 6 was very good on Saturday but we could have won the game 3 or 4-1 in terms of chances created and Canvey looked like a team struggling to score goals so 1 goal from us (expertly taken by Cassie) virtually guarenteed us a point at the very least! Fine save by Kess and another excellent performance from the back 4!

I like the look of Piscina he gets his foot in and gets around the pitch and special mention for 'Ryan Whores' as per the Canvey tannoyman!

Cant help but think that if we had been playing down hill with the wind behind us and that snow storm in the first half we would have been a couple more goals up. Well thats the luck of the draw.
Must say that that was the best signposted qround i have been to .

Agree about the signposting to the ground. Well done to Canvey for that. I was pushing it a bit as stuck at the Tunnel for 20 minutes and didnt even think to take a map so to see signs to the ground from miles away was a very welcome bonus.
Not the best of games but less than 48hrs after playing Ware what do you expect. Well done to all the team and especially the fans also as that was a massive turnout and Canvey must have been impressed. I saw the Canvey Manager ( was he the one in the jeans? ) look round at the Darts fans and nodded his approval when the attendance was read out.
good show and The Ryman Premier wont know what has hit them next season !

I am convinced that we outnumbered the home support which means we must have had in excess of 400 fans. I wouldn't be surprised to find that between 450-500 of the 810 crowd were ours which is, quite frankly, astonishing. Even back in the days of John Still and Peter Taylor, we never took those sort of numbers to away games and it just shows you how our club is on an upward spiral. I don't know where all these new Darts away fans have come from but its bloody fantastic! Long may it continue.

As for the game, it was the consumate, professional performance. Darts were undoubtedly the better side and once we went in front, I never doubted we would win. Great performances from the back four .... Ossie / Coyle have done a remarkable job filling in for Flanners, Norman was excellent and Guesty was my pick for MOTM.

Alex O'Brien had a cracking game, Greenie was as enthusiastic and hard-working as ever ... it must be hell to play against this guy. Our goal was rarely threatened, but on the one occasion when he was really required, Kessell pulled off a fantastic save. In fact everyone played pretty well and it was another great team performance.

Easter has been fun.
