agree trevor we are nowhere near as good as brentford and probably will never be in our lifetimes

Just for your benefit Rambo I will reiterate what I actually said

Quote
and in truth we were no where near as good as Brentford on the day.

Read the last three words Rambo because at most other times throughout the season our performances would have stuffed them.

Benmurphy,        Iv'e just read your post and agree with it 99% But not Mark Green, If supplied with the right ball he will run like hell at any defence, Brentwood shut him down with at lease two / three players in the first half and did the same with lewis in the second. Your last pargraph to me hits the nail on the head, I think the same but haven't put in writing.

The state of the pitch appears to be effecting our style of play, its a shame, Welsh Waffler warned about this earlier in the season, its relevant.

Kebabus, you are right. I and several others have mentioned this and i did say that it may well come back to haunt us.

I'LL SAY IT AGAIN  "QUITE SIMPLY WE ARE RUINING OUR BIGGEST ASSET".

Agreed, but that wasn't the reason we lost on Saturday!  Fair play to Brentwood who worked really hard and deserved their win on the day.

I'm trying to keep it in perspective, and whilst it was mighty disappointing, perhaps it's the kick up the backside we needed? We've won nothing yet. However, I don't think it was complacency. There were though, a few players who were nowhere near the top of their game. The Junior Kadi fitness and contribution debate has been well versed already. He looks great when we're on top and winning, but when we are struggling to get on top, where is he? OB, who has been nothing short of a revelation in recent weeks had a quiet game when we were looking for someone to really stamp their authority on it, but in fairness, perhaps he was due one? Ryno and Phil were, by their standards, quiet. Jay worked hard when holding the ball up, but unfortunately missed the few goalscoring chances that fell to him. If only just one of them had fallen to Cassie!

Fortunately, our defence looked as solid as ever (Guesty was clearly MOTM for me) and I thought the only way they were going to get beaten was by something special and so it proved. Disappointing therefore that we didn't learn from Noble's ability last time we played them, and the long range shots he kept trying throughout Saturday's match. Wasn't it inevitable that one would eventually be on target? And yet, I lost count of the times our midfield failed to close him down and allowed him to shoot.

Anyway, like I said, it's important we keep this defeat in perspective. We are still in the driving seat, and we are still good enough. I've a feeling that Potters Bar might well feel the backlash next week.

Come on you Darts!

Thankyou Duke, posted the original comments quickly in between decorating and didn't do my usual check before posting. xshake

On the reply from you Rambo, please accept my sincere apologies as I quickly read your post after a struggle to hang a difficult piece of wallpaper, still missed the obvious plus the grin and was not in the best of moods having not had a break since getting up at 6.00a.m. only to realise that it was 7.00a.m. not a good start to the day. xbow xbow

Sorry, I have to disagree with this. The pitch is still in good nick bearing in mind the time of year, the recent weather and number of games it's had on it. I bet there isn't a better pitch in he league. It didn't seem to effect Brentwood that much, who by the way fully deserved their win. We simply didn't perform on the day and didn't deserve to win. No good looking for excuses.

Fair play to Brentwood not alot more to add re the playing side of things I agree wholeheartedly with Ben Murphys post the midfield is our weak area and needs some surgery before next year regardless of what league we are in! Noble artguably the best player Ive seen this season he was good at Brentwood and superb on Saturday...perhaps he just likes playing the rain?!?!?

My only other thoughts would be surely room for Eddie at least on the bench insrtead of say Barnes if and only if 100% fit and what does Yo Yo have to do to get a game?? He did his bit against Ware and hasnt been seen since!

Also im afraid TB and the management team who havent got alot wrong did get it wrong on Saturday. it was fairly obvious that to stop Brentwood and at least get a point which we should have done the number 11 Noble should have been man marked or at least kept an eye on.This may have meant matching their formation for the 2nd half but by doing this a 0-0 should have been achieved which would have been a lot better than 0-1!

ANYWAY line drawn underneath this performance and onwards to Potters Bar!!!!

4 to go boys!!!!

The wings were pretty much under water, this effected our main tactic, playing down the wings, i'll take this point a step further, for the money spent on the pitch and the comparisons drawn when it was unveiled, its very worn, tired and certainly not the carpet that other such pitches are at this stage.

Absolutely. Although it's still better than most in our division, a few months ago it would have been worthy of a World Cup final. Now its littered with bald patches and is deteriorating all the time. Why? OVER USE!!!

No doubt it will benefit from a dose of Kent Ravens pub rugby during the summer .... JCB racing and a Monster trucks show to follow soon, no doubt.
