After Saturdays loss at home, the players shouldn't need any speeches, that result should give them all a kick up the back side to be honest, its back to a more determined hungry Dartford side for me.
Quite right Gregg.
I'm very much still of the opinion that we'll win this league and I for one would like to see some Dartford FC glory of my own without listening to the stories of how good we used to be way back when. But ultimately it's up to the players.
The whole squad must realise that the performance on Saturday was well off the pace and hopefully they will want to put this right at the weekend.
From my own point of view I'd like to remind them that they have come too far now to chuck it all away.
You are top of the league for a reason, and that reason is because you are the best team in this league and have proved that consistently over the last 30+ games. And I'm sure that in a few weeks time you would rather like to go down in Dartford FC history as the team that took us into the Ryman Premier League as Champions rather than the team that almost did something, came close but ultimately weren't up to it.
I know you can do it, 1,200+ fans know you can do it, your management certainly knows you can do it........ and so do you.
I'm off on holiday this week, and I fully expect to come back on the 12th to find that you're either still top and on course for that which you so richly deserve or that other circumstances have gone our way and that you are Champions elect. If you don't.................... then expect the wrath of Custard.
So endeth the lesson.
