Mr Penguin I was going to save myself for Saturday but I might have a few Lucozades tonight....

I am an old man now.

I think under the circumstances it's acceptable to allow yourself a small sherry (steady now!). Will be a pleasure to fill your glass on Saturday with some Championship bubbly!  xtip

Cheers Old Stoat  :-D

Thanks for the kind words. I cannot believe I entered my sixth decade today. Perhaps it might make me grow up.

i like your posting spike,i wanted to quote your 4th para but i dont know how.its just that i am pleased people are beginning to notice JK is a great player.personally i think he is our greatest weapon because he makes things happen.yes he does lack mobility as does OB which makes this duo a difficult one to get right.however the brilliance of ryan hayes gave it a chance when it was only the two of them.despite some JK moaners he has a hand in almost every goal we score, where would we be without his passing ability and his quick brain.
saturdays starting 11 without doubt IS our best team and the fact that tony chose this team with a fully fit squad says it all.tonys descision to add eddie to the existing two was inspired and gave JK the opportunity and freedom to perform.after about 55 minutes the job was done and i am sure JK came off the gas a bit especially after some nutter in the tilbury team hit JKs ankle

i hope to see JK in a dartford shirt at least another 100 times

Without getting complacent about the next two games, we are looking towards the next level now. JK can play a bit and looks as though he might be more comfortable at that higher level, especially if he's allowed a bit more time on the ball. To be honest, I haven't seen much of the Premier teams, but you'd expect more ability generally. JK needs to improve his fitness I think, but if he puts the pre-season effort in, he can be an important player for us next season.

JK's fitness (or lack of it) is an ever-recurring theme on this forum. Might it not just be that he is a naturally languid player? The fact that he doesn't move fast doesn't necessarily mean he isn't fit... :?

i havnt seen the ryman premier league but the assumption is that its a bit quicker and the players a bit bigger but i am sure junior has played more games in the premier league than the north section.speed although important is not the be all and end all in football.as aitch says just because he doesnt move fast doesnt mean hes unfit.i dont understand why people cant embrace the types of skills different players have and accept you need variation to make a good team.

Firstl of all, it's really great to see people praising JK. There's no doubting his ability and yes, he has played at a higher level most of his career, especially as a junior (no pun intended). But sorry but I don't accept the 'languid' argument - you don't get to the level he did without having some sort of pace. That's why I think fitness may be an issue for him, because it often is when players who have been full time go part time and have other commitments to make a living. Also, injuries may have played a part. Either way, well done to him for his performance on Saturday, he has real class and I'm sure he can only get better for us.

Everyone knows JK is a good player Rambo and it is true that he has a hand in loads of goals and delivers some great quality dead balls. Unfortunately though, (IMHO) his lack of fitness/pace means that it just doesn't work quite as well for us when he plays centre-midfield alongside Alex who, despite his other great qualities, also lacks mobility. Eddie Mac on the other hand, has a great engine and gets up and down, driving us forward when necessary and then going deep to help recover the ball before driving us forward again. Almost all of our big goal-fest games have occurred when Eddie has been central alongside Alex.

Last Saturday though, JK seemed to find much more time and space on the wing and the balance of the team looked so much better. JK had a very good game its true, but whenever I watch him I can't help thinking that, if he was as fit as Mark Green for example, he would be absolutely phenomenal!

I agree with Janine ... all that "languid" stuff is nonsense, currently it's just a matter of whether you think his lack of fitness is outweighed by his natural talent. On Saturday's performance and in that position I think it worked great. Whether you could get away with it at the next level I don't know, but if he stays with us and spends the summer training hard, he could just as easily be the best player on the park next season. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

??? spike i cant help thinking if mark green could croos the ball like ryan giggs how phenomenal he would be and if rio could read a game like bobby moore and if michael owen had the passion of maradona and if pele was as tall as peter crouch.........meanwhile we will have to make do with junior orchestrating nearly all our goals but its a crying shame he doesnt run around full pelt like a headless chicken
