If you guys got to Edgware at around 12:00-12:30 ish, what would you plan to do before the gates open? In fact, who knows when the gates actually open?

Oh, & Tallfella, there's me, coylie4England, Tommyg, Jason, Kebabus & friends, Anfield & friends, Woody & friends I believe - I reckon at least 30 or so that I know of, so hopefully will be more than that........................

Sounds good cheers. I may still catch a lift to the game and meet up in the pub beforehand. Work it out in the week COYD

I'd love to go to this one, and I'm back in the country for it, but Mrs Shabby loathes football with the sort of passion the rest of us reserve for Tony Blair, while tiny Shabby probably deserves better than to witness her dad yelling obscenities at referees. I have already mentioned that London Zoo is to be found a breif walk away from Edgware station, but I don't think it'll bear scrutiny as an excuse, while my efforts to portray the Weatherspoons as a sort of morning creche may yet result in a file for divorce. I may yet appear at the game, but I reckon another afternoon of frantic updates from Mrs Gaz (long may she reign!) will be on offer.

I was never happy at school. This one time the headmaster called me into his office. I was terrified. My friend jimmy went to his office and he could'nt sit down for a week, so I'm thinking please, please don't let him find me sexually attractive.

You remember those pre/post-war movie newsreels where they invariably would show a group of northern football fans (probably called Stan, Nobby or Arkwright), puffing on dog ends, all decked out in their Sunday best, wing collars, flat cap and oversized rosette saying "Up For the Cup", piling into a couple of carriages, supping on a cuppa or leaning out of the windows waving their scarves or silly little flags as they set off for their big day down in "The Smoke"? Well, I reckon the 10:17am from Dartford is going to look very similar to that! Dartford FC are on their way to Edgware and we're going mobbed up (in the nicest possible sense, naturally). And if the BBC are filming this for inclusion in a piece to be shown on The One Show then DFC are going to come out of it looking like the Champions they are.

Which is nice!  xtip

If there are less than 50 fans at the station I think that I will be a little disappointed. You can add about a dozen of our little tribe to the list plus there will be a contingent from our South Coast Branch of the Supporters Club waiting for us in The Grapes.

Being as this has de facto become the match thread here's the team comparisons

                               Edgware Town  FC                Dartford FC

 Position                              4                                 1
Won                                47.50%                         65.00% Won
Draw                               35.00%                         20.00% Draw
Lost                                17.50%                         15.00% Lost
Clean Sheets                    21                                 20                       Clean Sheets
Goal strike rates               every 73min                     every 34 min.        Goal strike rates
Goal concede rates           every 109 min.                 every90 min.        Goal concede rates

Home win                          65.00%                         75.00% Away win
Home draw                        30.00%                         10.00% Away draw
Home lost                           5.00%                         15.00% Away lost
Home Clean Sheets                12                               11 Away Clean Sheets
Home Goal strike rates         every 55 min.                  every 30 min. Away Goal strike rates
Home Goal concede rates     every 164 min.                  every 106 min. Away Goal concede rates

Last 7 Matches   LWLWWWL 10 goals for 11 against              DWWWLW  14 goals for 5 against

As we all know, this was never going to be an easy game. Given Edgware's home form, the last 8 home matches W6 D1 L1 12 goals for 5 against, and our away form W4 D4 20 goals for 7 against, with both teams needing a win for different reasons, this will hopefully be a very entertaining game. We really do need the 12th man (the supporters) any chance we could get near a 4 figure gate for an away match? Surely we can beat the 738 that went to the Suds game xbow xbow xbow, I think I heard mention on saturday about a 3rd coach being added so who knows.
We have 1 spare seat in the car leaving Dartford around 12'ish if anyone needs a lift, PM me. We will of course NOT be rushing back!
