Sudbury, because any team that manages to keep up with Dartford in spite of that long unbeaten run from November to April deserves promotion.

And the Play off winner is....
« Reply #2 on: April 16, 2008, 07:49:31 PM »

Who do we all fancy. Last year, Maidstone went up, and were joined by the mighty Hastings. Now that we're just about there, it's nice to look at the rest. Personally, I have no great desire to see Redbridge again, though they're the team I think are most likely to win the play-offs. I really feel Sudbury deserve something after all their hard work, but they appear to be going down fast at the wrong time. Lots of people have raved about the welcome at Bury, while others claim the Canvey set-up deserves a better standard of football. Meanwhile, top bloke though Samuelsmiles is, I fear Edgware and their ninety fans have little to offer the Premier except closure, while Ware also seem a tad small.
I'll be rooting for Bury then, though  Canvey or Sudbury would'nt dissappoint. Any other thoughts, and more important, anyone going to bother keeping us informed (I can live without live updates, but news would be nice!)

Hells bells Jason. I've been thinking that post up since Boxing Day, and now it gets gazumped by a git with broadband. Thats what comes of living in Spain, you have to wait for the donkey to take your e-mails to the post office. I dunno, it's enough to make me start going to games again.

I've voted for Sudbury because I'm a sucker for a hard-luck story and if I was one of their fans there's no other way to describe my reaction to the last few weeks than .... WTF?

Strangely enough that goal that never was fine strike from 12 inches out by Brendon was the real turning point for them wasn't it?

Having said that, I think their mind games were seriously off-colour and there's a (small) justice in seeing it boomerang back to hit them. They sent out a wobble and it came back as a fully-fledged disintegration.

Bury was a lovely day out - Stephanie and I had fattening lunch   xanorak at a nice restaurant, walk around the cathedral grounds , got entangled with a wedding  xtip, not remembering Delboy's name and shouting out 'Oi' when we wanted directions and saw him across the street, and then a very exciting game. McDonalds on the way home  xfinger

Must admit, I don't share the general view of Canvey's ground. I believed that the King money would have bought a bit more to be honest, although I absolutely loved the 'Club SUPERSTORE' which was like a garden shed. Great sense of humour and a real non-league flavour. Great people too.

So, Sudbury for me, although I think their freefall is about as free as it gets at the moment so I have a feeling it could be Canvey.

OK Neil I'm going to contribute to your thread because I cant make up my mind for the poll. There's something to be said for all of them.

Sudbury on their day were the best of the bunch. As Duke says if they can get the 2 main attackers back they could do it.  Redbridge are like a runaway train at the moment -3-1 down last night and won 4-3. The form team.        Canvey at their best are a match for anyone except seemingly Dartford.          Edgware nullified our attack at PP and I can quite see how they have conceded so few goals. Scoring seems to be another matter.       Bury I did enjoy so if it were down to where I wanted to go most next season it would be them. They took 4 points out of 6 against us. As did Brentwood. I think Brentwood might come up a bit short but fair play they were the one team who beat us when no-one else could.      Ware looked good enough in attack at our place. Wasn't so taken with the defence though. I missed the 4-0 away game so may be doing them a disservice.

Because I have not even considered them it might be Maldon - we could not beat them home or away.

xshake Banksy, behave yourself. What is all this cest nonsense as well?

I'm not too fussed who wins it really, as long as it isn't Redbridge. The behaviour of their players and management at the away game left a bitter taste.
