Addicks on cloud nine
It was raining goals on Saturday as two Addicks sides racked up 15 between them - for while Alan Pardew presided over a thumping 6-0 win over Ebbsfleet United at Stonebridge Road, a second Charlton XI netted a whopping nine times without reply against Blue Square South Braintree Town.
Chris Dickson led the goal spree at Cressing Road, helping himself to four goals as the Addicks ran riot in the 9-0 victory.
Svetoslav Todorov played in Charlton colours for the first time since sustaining a season-ending knee injury in October, and Lloyd Sam and Matt Holland were among the senior contingent on show in Essex.
The Addicks were seven goals to the good at the interval as the Iron, mainly made up of trialists, struggled to live with the slick passing and devastating finishing.
Winger Sam chipped in with two goals and Ben Godfrey, Yado Mambo and Sam Long were also on target.
