Dover Game 19th - Match Thread
« on: August 06, 2008, 07:14:37 PM »

just seen in dartford messenger that the prices for this game are the same as the pre-season friendly: £7-Adults    £4-Concessions    £1-Kids
this looks as if the club are trying to get some of the fans that game to the wingate/charlton games to come back with cheap prices for one of the best league gams in the season

or the dartford messenger have made another mistake

COYD :-D

£7 for the dover game - you have two hope's,  BOB and f......g NO !!!!!!!!

just hope sense prevails and no segregation as dont expect big dover [away]  following as champ is cadjoling them into filling up a 30 seater bus

should be a terrific game and BOTH sets of genuine fans will be looking forward to it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so there is my contribution to " lets be friends with dover " !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm looking forward to Maidstone more. Shame the away games in midweek though.

I'm not sure if those prices were advertising the pre season friendlies (after the last one has been played) or if they apply to the Dover game, which I doubt. It's a  slightly confusing advert, but at least the date is right.

It's a mistake. The club is aware ( I've just checked) and will contact the paper to get it corrected for next week's edition. They seem to have taken the previous advert, altered the date and the opponents and left everything else the same. I've had a similar problem with local newspaper adverts for other organisations.

as its a TUESDAY NIGHT  i will be very suprised if the gate is anywhere near 2000 ?????//

IF the ryman league had thought it through a SATURDAY GAME would have helped the club coffers and allowed 100s of fans of both sides to attend what should be a cracking game

HOWEVER  ryman league is noted for its brainpower !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cant see Dover bringing over 200 although i'd be pleased if they did. The more travelling support, the better as it means we have more people to sing against.

I think 200 Dover fans is more than a possibility - especially if we get off to a good start against Harrow.

Have the club decided whether the ground will be segreated and whether we will have access to the bars this time?

I think they have decided to not segregate and the bars will be open to all (except Champs drum kiddy drum brigade!) hope that helps Stevey baby.
