I don't think i saw OB throw any punches, he knows what he has done wrong and accepts his punishment he was captain last year i cant see that happening this year as he may struggle to retain his first team place, lots of people dont rate him but this season will be his to make.

This bit of the thread resembles the Jay May sending off last season.......

Roll on Saturday when we really have something to talk about.....

Maybe, but it isn't an isolated incident and it HAS already happened this year before the real stuff starts.

there is no truth in the rumour that martins ancestors in th 1600s  were in charge of " HANGING, DRAWING & QUATERING "  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:-D You are a funny old boy at times but entertaining for sure. Just because I advocate a consistent team in the circumstances - these players have got to realise their place in the team is not guaranteed it has to be earned and running 50 yards for a bit of rough and tumble to impress the terrace monsters is not the way to earn it in my opinion. OFF WITH HIS HEAD.

Looks like Hendon are moving to Wembley to ground share after our match this week.

Must be some kind of record - 2 away games in a row where it's been the home teams last league game at their ground!

Is their any news on the fitness of Adam Flanagan for Saturday ? Towards the end of the first half at Thamesmead he seemed to be really struggling with what appeared to look like a possible groin strain and then did not appear for the second half. xshake

Just a quick look at our opponents!

Hendon missed out on the play offs last year by 3 points. One guesses they will be fancying their chances of making the top 5 if not better this year! Seems they were quite useful at home not so great on the road!

Not sure if they have kept hold of their playing squad from last season but this will be a good test of our lads and a reasonable barometer of what we can expect this season!

Apparently the move is not being forced on them by developers (at least not directly). The current landlords (a business that might possibly have development ideas, though) are demanding such a big rent increase that the supporters trust, who are taking control of the club in October, can't afford it, according to the NLP.

EDDIE MAC is unavailable for 2 months due to work commitments but he wants to stay with the darts and we retain his registration

it seems that he is part of a big contract which involves visits to the continent[ i think france] on a moments notice  , so he could have had the situation where he trained thursday night , was in tonys plans for saturday but on friday he was called away and that is not on and eddie has been straight about that

hopefully the contract/commitment ends in october so eddie is back wirth us full time which should be a good fillip if we are doing well or a real bonus if things aint going so well

eddie remains a darts favourite[ and a decent guy] so will be great to have him back in october

Time to correct a few misconceptions methinks.

Firstly, we aren't, and never have been called "Hendon Town". It's not beyond the wit of man to actually look at what we're called literally everywhere else and come to that conclusion.

Secondly, there's a slim chance it could be our last game at Claremont Road. I'd say we're more likely to have a couple more before moving to Vale Farm - there's no date set yet, and the closer we get to those games, the harder it'll be to move them. There's not yet been agreement from the relevant football authorities.

Thirdly, we are short of money. Very much so. There's no benefactor at all to inject any cash whatsoever. What the football club and supporters trust can make over the season is what we have to spend. In terms of budget, we're certainly at the bottom end of the league table, and have been for quite a while now. Not quite sure where that idea came from.

Finally, the ground move thing is complicated...

- The the ground is owned by the council.
- The football club has a 90(ish) year lease on the ground. It also has a large debt at present.
- The current owners are unable to continue to service this debt and cover any losses made by the club.
- Proposed solution is for our Supporters Trust to take on the footballing assets of the club, to allow us to continue playing football into the future. The existing company retains the one major asset (the ground) and the large debt attached to it. We carry on debt free, but without our own ground. There isn't an alternative solution.

What the current owners then do with the ground and debt is then up to them. I'm aware of what their plans are, but it's not my place to put it into the public domain. However, even if the ground were still available to us, which is fairly unlikely in all honesty, the combined cost of the rent charged by the council (which hasn't changed), bills, upkeep and in particular insurance are way beyond our means and ability to support ourselves.

That aside, enjoy your visit :)

See y'all on Saturday.

Cheers Gary! I wouldn't normally have mentioned it, but thought it was worth it with the other stuff :)
