Time to correct a few misconceptions methinks.
Firstly, we aren't, and never have been called "Hendon Town". It's not beyond the wit of man to actually look at what we're called literally everywhere else and come to that conclusion.
Secondly, there's a slim chance it could be our last game at Claremont Road. I'd say we're more likely to have a couple more before moving to Vale Farm - there's no date set yet, and the closer we get to those games, the harder it'll be to move them. There's not yet been agreement from the relevant football authorities.
Thirdly, we are short of money. Very much so. There's no benefactor at all to inject any cash whatsoever. What the football club and supporters trust can make over the season is what we have to spend. In terms of budget, we're certainly at the bottom end of the league table, and have been for quite a while now. Not quite sure where that idea came from.
Finally, the ground move thing is complicated...
- The the ground is owned by the council.
- The football club has a 90(ish) year lease on the ground. It also has a large debt at present.
- The current owners are unable to continue to service this debt and cover any losses made by the club.
- Proposed solution is for our Supporters Trust to take on the footballing assets of the club, to allow us to continue playing football into the future. The existing company retains the one major asset (the ground) and the large debt attached to it. We carry on debt free, but without our own ground. There isn't an alternative solution.
What the current owners then do with the ground and debt is then up to them. I'm aware of what their plans are, but it's not my place to put it into the public domain. However, even if the ground were still available to us, which is fairly unlikely in all honesty, the combined cost of the rent charged by the council (which hasn't changed), bills, upkeep and in particular insurance are way beyond our means and ability to support ourselves.
That aside, enjoy your visit

See y'all on Saturday.
