We had a perfectly good goal ruled out for offside. It did not just come off their player, he actually passed it back and Haworth intercepted. The linesman was at fault, the ref didn't have the fantastic view offered by the Harlow terrace.

The boys worked so hard and seem to be catching up with the quicker pace and speed of thought. Day and Noble look like they have been in the same team for years, Butters was direct and scared the full back every time he got it. Poor Coyle had a stinker, often out of position, very bad passing, allowing the ball to bounce, several of us in the stand thought he would miss the penalty because of his bad game, and so he did. However, the hangover he must have been nursing would not have been helped by the reasonably played drums or indeed his well met header from a corner worked from a wicked Hayes ball at the death. The header was to prove the winner.

When Haworth hammered us ahead TB ran down the touchline faster than I ever saw him in his playing days to congratulate the big lad. Lesser liaisons have ended up in pregnancy.

Ok we played one up but Noble supported the strong Haworth superbly and with Day and Butters contributing from wide, it was a fluid attacking line up.

One final thought, although their ground was 'nice', pound for pound (theirs cost £3m I believe) I think we got a better deal with PP, albeit without the great terrace.

WELL DONE LADS

I agree, i think it's quite obvious the speed of the matches and the opposition are far superior to the Ryman North.
Looks like we are finding our feet at this level and will start to pick up more points.

Great performance from the boys today. Noble - bloody brilliant, wonder how long we can hang on to him. Haworth - imense worked his socks off, gave their defence a torrid time. Day - very composed, good first touch etc. all round a thoroughly deserved win. Albeit very dramatic in stoppage time - brilliant.
Just one thing...........apparently a certain council leader was asked to leave the harlow boardroom for being improperly dressed - alledgedly. When trying the old " Do you know who i am"  stunt, was told by a basil fawlty look alike " Thats even worse, out you go " !!! l made me smile anyway :)

The Jinx oop's The Duke has served his penance and missed a very exciting match and I trust will be back for Wealdstone.

A change of line up and no Cassie so no 4-2-4 has Tony got it right ? will Haworth cope ? yes and for me he gets my vote as M.O.M. for a very good display of front running, winning the ball in the air, drifting out to the left when necessary, laying off good balls and of course the chest down wallop ball in the net goal.

Should have been two when Haworth although in an offside positon walking back, intercepted a back pass and after the run to the edge of the box he pulled it back for Butters to score only for the lino to flag for offside and because the ref hadn't seen the back pass he accepted the decision so no goal.

Second half after a retaken free kick (due to Harlow messing up the first take and the ref feeling sorry for them) they got to the by-line and somehow got a cross in that evaded Kessie and after dancing about a bit their forward got control and shot home.

The rest of the second half was end to end stuff with us creating flowing passes on the deck and Harlow punting the ball high and forward to find players in space, and then a penalty for handball and most of us were not confident but Coylie has done us proud in the past, the referee left it to the lino to watch the keeper and taker whilst he turned his back on the goal and watched for player encroachment (or that was his excuse) and Coylie hit the ball low but the keeper spread himself and the ball rebounded to safety.

Straight down the other end and a chance for Harlow and after a scramble in the box a brilliant save from Kessie, his only real one of the day proving as ever he is on his toes for 90+ minutes and for some he might be their M.O.M.

With 90 minutes up the fourth official raised 4 minutes added time and so we still had a chance and after several more creative moves with no goal but a couple of good saves from their keeper, on around 93 minutes a corner which saw their keeper flap miss the ball and Coylie was unmarked at the far post to head home.

Signal the Darts fans to go mad and it just left the final few moments to wind down and a 2-1 win for us, well deserved considering as others have already said we had three crap officials who were content to favour Harlow and allow Lee Noble to be kicked to pieces again.

Lee produced as good a a performance as anybody today and probably will pick up M.O.M. votes for it, but as already stated I will go for Haworth as I and probably many others didn't expect such a strong lone performance up front from him judging by previous games, but full marks to Tony he added the right midfield balance in support, with Butters creating strong runs on the right in place of Ryno, Dafter, Day and Barnsie as ball winners and Noble causing mayhem anywhere.

594 means a good turnout from Darts fans of around 300 if Harlow's only home attendance is anything to go by for this season and with two drums Kev on Banksie's side tom-tom (tries hard but is no better than it's owner) and very good snare drum playing from an other (apologies sorry don't know the name) this inspired the choir to sing out well on the day.

Brilliant day out nice new stadium good friendly rival fans and they may well say a draw would have been fairer, but for me hitting the crossbar twice, one a cracker from Lee, a missed penalty and far more chances means we deserved it.

trev b my drum skills are exquisite as per usual kev today were some what shocking
also well done to sponge for his snare drum i liked it lots bring to every game please

Great game today. Good ground apart from the beer which imo tasted foul. The formation was just about what i was hoping for and i think suggested from someone's earlier post with noble feeding haworth. Day, haworth, noble and butters particularly stood out for me. just been reading harlow's forum. it makes very entertaining reading about today.  xgiggle xgiggle xgiggle

After such an unsatisfactory start to the season today's game reminded me why I switched my allegiance from the professional game to non-league ... watching a side play their hearts out without the incentive of several kit bags full of cash, superb entertainment (Noble and Haworth especially), nail biting drama (Oh!, Jamie xshake) and a Boy's Own finish (OH! JAMIE!!!!!  xtip). The Choir were magnificent today  xbow xbow xbow and (for the benefit of those 'home' only supporters who read this forum) the noise they generated was awesome. The Battle of the Drums was well and truely won by the Darts although fair dues to Harlow for playing their part. 'Nuff said already about the officiating (or lack of it) but the treatment of Noble by the desperate Harlow thugs defenders was bordering on assult. Still, Tony's Barry Fry impression after Rob's opener was worth the entrance fee on its own (and I heard PS's celebration for the winner was pretty good too!). Excellent day all round. Cheers! :-D

The DFC Juggernaught is finally rolling. Next stop Princes Park. Next victims Wealdstone.

What a game. Had it all. For the first ten minutes you would have been mistaken for thinking we were at the Notting Hill Carnival or something with all the atmosphere and drumming that was going on. The new snare really lifted the tempo and kept the choir in party mood for the majority of the game. (BTW Banksy if you're renting out your drum you've gotta let me have a go next lol) However as for the game, yes im happy that we won and in such superb late fashion but now i can comment about the performance without people saying that im only saying what im saying because we lost. Firstly, we still need to be taking our chances. Dafter with a scoffed shot from 6 yards out. Coyle with the penatly, although penalties are always a lottery and hats of to him for keeping his head up and finishing at the end and various other chances. I think Barnes looked the weaklink in that side today as his passes were often array. Harlow had pretty much that one clear cut chance which they took and as we had five or six, im sure this forum would have been full of anger protesting at how we'd yet again failed to take our share of the chances. I feel a bit sorry for James White who i think should have replaced Barnes earlier in the second half. On the break, he was often too slow getting the ball out and while Noble and Day were running at the defenders with pace, he was wasting vital seconds thinking of which way the pass would go. Butterworth had his best game for the club today and was excellent, doing exactly what he was signed for. Running at the defenders and going past them without constant cutbacks. Day and Noble were again in classes of there own and Dafter (who for a DM sure does have a good touch with the ball at his feet) also played well. Major props to Haworth who when given the starting opportunity proved his worth and had an outstanding game, winning every flick on and holding the ball up. Shame he didnt have another strike partner to lay off two but Noble and Day made themselves availiable. Some of the onetouch passing and little flicks were fantastic to watch.

End Verdict - Well done on the first win and first goals Dartford but for crying out loud, lets settle it in the first half rather than the 94th  xnod
