We had a perfectly good goal ruled out for offside. It did not just come off their player, he actually passed it back and Haworth intercepted. The linesman was at fault, the ref didn't have the fantastic view offered by the Harlow terrace.
The boys worked so hard and seem to be catching up with the quicker pace and speed of thought. Day and Noble look like they have been in the same team for years, Butters was direct and scared the full back every time he got it. Poor Coyle had a stinker, often out of position, very bad passing, allowing the ball to bounce, several of us in the stand thought he would miss the penalty because of his bad game, and so he did. However, the hangover he must have been nursing would not have been helped by the reasonably played drums or indeed his well met header from a corner worked from a wicked Hayes ball at the death. The header was to prove the winner.
When Haworth hammered us ahead TB ran down the touchline faster than I ever saw him in his playing days to congratulate the big lad. Lesser liaisons have ended up in pregnancy.
Ok we played one up but Noble supported the strong Haworth superbly and with Day and Butters contributing from wide, it was a fluid attacking line up.
One final thought, although their ground was 'nice', pound for pound (theirs cost £3m I believe) I think we got a better deal with PP, albeit without the great terrace.
WELL DONE LADS
