Dartford vs Hastings
« on: September 10, 2008, 04:31:17 PM »

Looking forward to the game on Saturday and hopefully a win to get the confidence back. They beat us 2-0 earlier in the season so lets try and beat them this time round as we were the better side in that game. Heard that this game is ticket, is this true?

Just to confirm in the interests of clarity to all...

I presume you mean that this game everyone has to pay for ( ie : not included in the season ticket package)

or

Do you mean thats its ALL TICKET as per previous matches that had the possibility of a high attendance and tickets had to be purchased in advance

It would just put people off if they thought they needed to purchase a ticket in advance.

In many ways this game is more important than last night's debacle. To overturn an earlier bad result must surely help with confidence, and give us all something to look forward to, team and fans. We could leave PP cock a hoop with a good result on Saturday, something that isn't happening too much at the moment in the league. We will have many more chances to secure our place in the Premier League, and that must surely be the goal at the moment. A good cup run could give everyone at the club a much needed boost. COYD

The "News Shopper" report suggests that the team will almost pick itself on Saturday. O'Brien, Barnes and Norman are injured, there are significant injury doubts about Flanagan and Kessell and Day is suspended!

Cant we get a quality loan keeper from either Ebbsfleet/Millwall/Charlton ??? Why don't we loan more players from these clubs ?

Don,

The problem with getting a loan keeper is that whoever we get is then cup-tied for their home club and that might make it difficult for us to pull in anyone that's decent.

I was a bit concerned yesterday as I noticed Guest taking goal kicks for Kess during the 2nd half. I wondered if maybe he picked up a bit of a knock during one of the goal mouth scrambles. One thing I learn't about Kess when I trained with him last year is that he is one seriously tough guy and doesn't injure easily.

If the worst comes to the worst I suppose I could always come out of retirement....... again. At least you guys would see how a real bad keeper performs and then maybe you'd appreciate how good Kess is  :-D

I've seen us play Hastings 3 times now and they've beaten us 2-0 each time, twice in the league and once in the FA Cup. it would be nice if we could buck the trend.

The article in the "News Shopper" says Kessell has a groin strain. This would explain the problem with goal kicks.

I mentioned in one of my posts before the Heybridge game that our second choice keeper should be given part of that game in case anything happened to Kessie or as a replacement if his confidence got any lower. Didnt expect Kess to get injured so soon and hopefully he may still be able to play.
As I'm still relatively new to non league football and dont really know much about Ibreheim it was interesting to hear some of the comments to my post. The main thing was that he was too inexperienced to be thrown in and give him a couple of years.
My question is, if he is such a rookie, why is he our no. 2??  xshrug

Would be a waste. Kevin in his last season, wouldn't have been good enough for this level, so why would he be now?

the season before PP he would have had us keeping at least 4 clean sheets by now.
Kess needs a bit of confidence, and he will manage, but he can't do the work of 5. The defence and central midfield need to cut out the long shots and crosses.

Constructive criticism?? Don't get it. If it's still criticism, how is it constructive?
