some further thoughts  [ and NOT just cause we won ] !!!!!!!!!!!!!

1] no one [ i think] has mentioned the referee as he was hardly noticed cause he was very good , he is already a football  league lino and if he keeeps it up then he could have a good future !!!

2] the goal that cox got was another sloppy one but fortunately it didnt matter ??????????

3] hasnt tony done a fantastic job in converting  rob hayworth into a goal scorer [ tic cusdart  }  !!!!!!!!

I did in an earlier post  Duke !!!   (well I said I thought the officials did well !!)  and I agree--best we've seen this season --can't really remember many decisions I didn't agree with (even ones that were given against us) and particularly at the end, he relieved the pressure by giving a couple of fouls in our favour from the flurry of corners.

He also did well to get out of the way of our first goal !!

The hastings FA Cup referee was also good. Proves my notion that the less we notice or have to say about the ref, the better he has performed (normally). Nothing is more annoying than a ref who wants to be the center of attention, Harlow immediately springs to mind for me. Apparently wealdstone was worse

A good referee isn't noticed. That's why you hardly ever remember the good ones.

Just back after a couple of days away and i think everyone has summed it up perfectly, take the opposition apart in the first 30 minutes, score two goals and hit the post, concede a goal after poor defending then turn round at half time, cope with the wind and lots of pressure from Maidstone, create a couple more chances, keep us on tender hooks until the 92 minute and come away with the win.

Support as good as ever in the first half but with no cover behind the goal and a total lack of atmosphere in the second half we were some what subdued until that final whistle.

Marvellous tonight and as the fans left we were all eagerly awaiting Saturday to come round, lets hope for 1200+ in attendance as we try to continue our winning ways and the squad is strengthened by the return of injured and suspended players.

Also special mention welcome back the real Ryan Hayes!

Thing about Ryan is hes a creative player who will try something different so when it doesnt always come off it can look awful but youi have to give him his head because he has the ability to turn matches on his own!

i was [ am] nervous about playing 2 wide men [ hayes and butterworth ]  but last few games butterworth has worked very hard [tracking back] and played very well and even ryno is doing same  ,even got a booking for a foul  tackle BUT this needs to be a season long plan or we will get exposed

ray powell is playing well at right back but his forward runs currently relies on ryno as full back cover and that leaves me a touch nervous ???????
