WHY does danny dafter get subbed so often after 65/70 mins , i have NOT checked but gut feel tells me its happened at least 5 times already this season  ?????????????

just interested NOT trying to start world war 3  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Text from TB - apologies for no notes today; DD was taken off due to a hip injury which was stiffening up in the second half.

duke the last time i watched us play was home to horsham and i have to be honest and say it is only in that game that i have been impressed with dafter.he did a great job there and in that particular formation and tactics i think he can prosper and continue to look good.but to answer your question as to why he gets subbed it can only be that as the game moves on and we need a result tony changes the team to make it more offensive and that means take dafter off.the replacement often is butterworth or hayes who run at you or with the ball or white who can thread the ball through or play a long raking pass

I have to say that Dafter for me has been superb in most of the games and again on saturday. He breaks up their midfield very well in every game.

As for Ryno I think he has improved a lot in his defending(yes silly tackle a couple of weeks ago but last season he would have been still in their half)so we will get Ryno losing out sloghtly going forward for a while as his overall fitness improves and remember they did have at least two players on him and three a couple of times. As for the ball and row Z well most of the boys would have done the same thing because as been mentioned their long throw.

H&R have averaged 1.5 goals a game and doing very well.If we had been given the goal as we should have that would have put us in the drivin seat and they would have had to come at us and we might have scored more .Any way I thought we played well but did not convert our chances.Forwards look to score one in three chances. On the positive we are creating chances and we are winning games .Most importantly the confidence is getting better so well done Tony and the troops keep it up.

Late to post on this match, but for what its worth -

I think that those who believe that their keeper was lucky were not watching closely.  Great saves do not have to be finger-tipped at full length.  Being in the right place and predicting where the ball will go is vastly important.  So are quick reactions.  I accept that his ability on crosses was suspect, but how often did we have the situation of Haworth challenging him in the air?

Somebody has previously said that we 'huffed and puffed'.  We did not get one clear shot on goal during the game from a player in a standing position.  Our best chances were created with Haworth sliding in at full stretch and by Cass when on his backside.  Our opponents only had two chances all game.  They were the best two chances of the game (if you exclude the goal that we had dis-allowed).  It reminded me of the match against Heybridge (I believe) when our opponents also parked the coach across the goal.

Well done to Hampton.  They had learned their homework and were too strong for us on the day.

Come on you Darts!

First rule of football is if in doubt put it out and unfortunately Ryno didn't do it when he should've which unfortunately cost us because Hampton took the ball from him and scored.

Yes i was one of those behind the goal shouting at Ryno in the 1st half but at times also shouted encouragement. Martin already knows my views about the Ryno situation and the goal because we spoke about it at half time, i also noticed Coney's plus 1 or 2 others faces when i shouted out to Ryno to get in this game and to be honest i don't care what they or anyone else thinks because at that time i was ventint my frustration which i'm entitled to do as well as the next person and i personally didn't think Ryan had a very good game at all and should've been subbed. Ryan is the kind of player you love to hate (in a nice way) purely because he either does something brilliantly (and quite often more than once) OR he does something very silly (again more than once) and he ends up getting supporters so frustrated because you just never know what to expect from him, one week he's magical the next he's nightmarish.
I was beginning to think we was getting the old Ryno back after games like Horsham and Maidstone then he has a game like Saturday, still i'll still be behind him along with the other Darts players but certain supporters have to learn to accept that THEIR favourite player isn't always everyone elses and at some time or another every player is going to have a bad game or 2 and whether they like it or not everyone is entitled to their opinions and they just might not agree with what has been said.

As for the game itself i thought we really battled away well and certainly didn't look out of place at all and it was only really the H & R keeper that kept them in the game by pulling off some good quick reaction saves otherwise we could've had at least 3 goals, still it wasn't to be and we ended up losing 1-0 to a team a league above and in about 9th place as well.

I gave my MOTM vote to Rob Haworth for his endless work rate yet again although i think he was closely followed by a great performance from John Guest, Jamie Coyle & Ozzy.

Unlucky Darts, lets look ahead now towards Billericay Saturday and hopefully another 3pts.

i like danny dafter as he quietly goes about winning the ball and allows the likes of noble, ryno etc to get the ball to play and they would be far less effective otherwise

he does get his foot in and a couple of times has been close to a red card but there is no point in " pussy footing " around in the minefield of a midfield !!!!!!!!!!

AND

if my friend rambo says he is good then he is good !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To be honest TLD I have no idea who I would drop for Eddie and I certainly do not envy Tony having to make changes if he decides to accomodate him.

Eddie if or when he returns will not be match fit, will not expect to get straight back into the team and will I'm sure be prepared to sit on the bench biding his time.

As somebody mentioned earlier Saturdays game was crying out for Eddie in the second half as probably the most likely player who could have unlocked the H & R defence and if he had been on the bench I could have seen him coming on for Lee who gave it all in the first half but tended to drift away in the second.(No criticism of Lee he puts as much into a game in the first half as most players do for the whole match)

The other thing is of course with Eddie is that come November we may have won a few games and be middle of the table or higher, then again we could be back at the bottom and would automatically replace anyone bar the keeper with him. xwhis  xno

i am glad that i dont have to pick the side for the billericay match let alone a bit later in the season when eddie and possibly 1/2 others come into the squad

the fact is that it is a squad game and to get 14 fit, fired up guys onto the pitch over the 90 minutes is the smart way as often that last 15/20 minutes[ fresh legs] wins matches

lee noble  especially [+ others ] cannot keep that level of work rate up for the whole of the [ 9 month] season and will need to be rested [ when the grounds get real heavy] and thats when the depth of the squad will be critical

players [ quite rightly] are not happy being on the bench but with with correct communication[ no doubts on this] they will realise that it is in everybodys interests and is the right thing to do

Well heres what H+R thought of the game and our ground - http://www.hamptonfc.net/index.html

Just like to mention, it's good to see all the starting 11 getting MOTM votes for this game. Although a dissapointing result, the effort of each one of them is appreciated.  xbow xbow xbow
