I don't understand why people turn up to the matches if all they are going to do is just criticize the players and then boo them when they don't play well. The reason the players aren't playing as well is because the crowd aren't encouraging them enough, so why should they play for fans they don't believe in them.  :x

The referee really did make some awful decisions today (almost all against us). The first Sutton goal came from a free kick that never was (and I -sitting in the stands - was closer than the ref). Sutton nearly scored a second when his bum got in the way of a Dartford pass and set up a Sutton attack. He booked Scouse for deliberate handball when the ball was hacked into him from less than a foot away. He booked 4 (I think) other Dartford players for what seemed only mild dissent when he'd (in not only their but also my - and others' - opinion) wrongly awarded free kicks against them. Some in the crowd were claiming that the Sutton player booked for time-wasting in injury time had already been booked and should therefore have been sent off (dunno if that was true, though, and in the 93rd minute it would hardly have made a difference). Levdart has already described the penalty decision - and by that time you could understand TB's and Steve Moseley's reaction, resulting in their being sent off (good job Skip kept his cool, or Dave Phillips would have been the only Darts official left on the bench!)

All in all, though, there can be no getting away from the fact that Sutton were the better team on the day. Bigger and quicker than Dartford, much tighter in defence and generally "wanting" it more (as well as being able to con the referee). We lacked punch up front because there was so little service from the midfield: Ryno and Scouse tried their hardest but got little joy when going forward, while all 4 midfielders all too often found themselves back helping the defence.

On the plus side, the young newcomer Liam looked very good in the 1st half (I couldn't tell in the 2nd half - he was down the other end from me): good tackler and composed on the ball  (in many ways like Jamie Coyle on a good day). Cody fizzed and hummed but either his final touch let him down or he was closed down too quickly. Rob Howarth never stopped trying and thoroughly deserved the sponsor's MOTM award and his stoppage time goal - a thumping 15-yard header from a Jamie Day corner.

So it's now 1 win out of 9 at home. Still, onward and hopefully upward!!!

Again we failed to defend against set pieces and it cost us.

We fight our way back into the game only for yet another rubbish referee to award a soft penalty for God knows what. Even some of their fans looked puzzled.

TB and Steve Mosely both get sent from the dug-outs for remonstrating with the officials. Things just aren't going our way at the moment, injuries, suspensions, poor refereeing decisions and now some total A*******s in the crowd, one of the right next to DJJohn & myself start throwing things at the opposition keeper.

Don't these Twats realise that this could also cost the club dear. I assume the guy who threw the bit of his hot dog at the keeper is a fan as he was wearing a DFC home shirt. In case you wondered a few of the fans in front of me had a go at the guy who then decided to slip away and stood by exit 8. You know who you were, White hair, reddish complexion, green anorak, blue jeans, sand boots.

All in all a disappointing game result wise but not a dull game. Gonna be a long season though. :x

Down to 17th position now, uncomfortably close to the relegation places, almost entirely because of the home form. One pleasing point was the size of the crowd- still above Dover's in spite of their lofty position and their good footballing side.

Lets start with the actual game....................
Bad free kick Ossie gave away for their first goal, he was never going to win the ball in those circumstances.
Second goal from their point of view would be good but i felt we should have got closer and blocked the shot.
First half though was pretty even (they maybe edged it) with both sides having spells of possession. However they took their chances when they came.
Second half we came out very strong and put them under lots of pressure and got back into the game with the early goal. However minutes later the referee awarded a penalty (i'll mention that later) which changed the whole complexion of the game.
New guy at the back looked quite good (i believe he's on loan for a month) but a few other were off sorts today.
Sutton looked a strong, powerful, fast side who closed us done well and were very clever in the challenge. They have some good players and if they continue like this i'm sure they'll move up the table and be in the play offs.

Now for the officials and haven't they earnt our "RESPECT" today.
From very early in the game when the Sutton No. 7 grabbed, pushed and then kicked Ryno in full view of the linesman and he only got a yellow card we wondered if this was the pattern which would follow. And unfortunately how right we were, Sutton were not a dirty or cynical side just very clever and unfortunately the ref was not good enough to realise what was going on. He gave them almost every 50/50 decision and was so inconsistent that we never settled. How between the three officials they got so many wrong i can't quite understand. Not big decisions (until the penalty) but small one's. It was a shame really because for me it spoilt the game and although Sutton looked a good side i'll never really know for sure because the officials weren't strong or consistent enough. It will be interesting to see how they cope with a stronger more aware ref. I still can't understand how we ended up with about 4-5 bookings when i cannot recall one poor challenge from us. Now before anyone starts saying it's sour gapes i think i have only complained about officials three times this season and some of those games we won. Now for the penalty which i'm pretty sure well over 1000 people still have no idea what it was given for. It came at a time when we were right back in the game and on top and i have no doubt this was a major turning point. Everyone just looked at each other when he pointed to the spot and i can't recall one Sutton player appealing or even having any idea what was going on, in fact like the rest of us. What i found really strange  if memory serves me right was the ball went in the box was cleared then went off for a goal kick and THEN he blew his whistle. I thought he was blowing for the goal kick until he then pointed to the spot to everyone's amazement. Now unless something happened off the ball or we have all missed something i hope Sonytino has it on video so we can tell for sure. As much as dissent doesn't get you anywhere i can understand how TB and Steve.M felt, like 1000 others. I cannot recall TB ever getting sent to the stands before because he has been so professional throughout his career, perhaps an indication of how poor the decision was. Shame again that officials take centre stage and although we have lost more than we have won this season i have enjoyed it, however today i just felt that the officials ruined the day.

RESPECT HAS TO BE EARNT NOT SIGNED FOR ON A PIECE OF PAPER.............................................

having normally stood by the half way line with my kids, today spent the second half  behind suttons goal with the choir , standing behind me was  a guy and his female friend who constantly moaned at rob , carthorse i think he keep calling him , plus a few other choice words, why do these people bother going to games ? i just dont understand why pay £10 just to moan????? calling ref a wan*er , also calling him a female reproductive organ. nice bloke! now my kids are no angels but really cant see need for the c word , and neither could another bloke, who took his little lad away and went somewhere else, wonder if they will be back? so back to half way line for me and family.  darts played ok but missed guesty big time, at least we have good new lad in defense, good bright game, very promising imo . as for the plonker who threw something at the keeper, its a game mate , yes emotions run high but its still a game ! still think we will be safe come the end of the season, then push for top six finish next season, rather we got there with players who want to play for darts cheers rob xbow . rather than get players here just for the money.  such as  xdover but good luck to them if thats what they want . just hope the money doesnt run  out down at the crabbie apple or whatever its called, be a shame to see them suffer  :-D motm for me was coyle  xtip  one last thing had a good laugh with some of the suttons guys at fagbreak time good bunch of people, even they admitted ref was not the best and that was before the phantom penalty. team nearly there and sure that when all injurys and suspensions sorted we can start to climb away from danger. as a famous corperal once said  "dont panic" coyd lets get going guys .  xbop

The second goal came from a free kick which was given for us being offside.  We were in direct line with this decision and both Dartford players were at least 2 foot on onside!  Without that ridiculous offside, the ball would have never been down that end.

Fully agree on the penalty too.  None of us have the foggiest what that was for.  Not only didn't the Sutton players appeal, neither did their fans!

The lino on Woody's side only signalled after the ref for all decisions but their offside goal (thank goodness).

Agree, one of several poor decisions.
But we still should have dealt with it once it got up our end.

Heaven forbid the day we have to rely on officials to make the right decisions  xshake xshake

As far as i'm concerned TB has made the right decision for the club in releasing these two players. Although i probably would have kept Barnes TB took time today to have a chat, after which the guys he spoke to are 100% convinced he is doing the right thing in the best interests of DFC. Tony is publicly very loyal to his players but is also fully aware of what is needed to take us to the next level. We are making steady progress and he is moving us in the right direction. I (probably like several hundred others) would like faster progress but TB will only bring in the right players, at the right time and for the right reasons. If you look at some of the players we have now you can't argue with that. Unfortunately sometimes you have to wait for the best things but if we can get a few defensive additions of the same quality as Danny, Lee, Cody, Jamie etc etc etc we will be a good side. I like the rest of you guys will just have to be a little patient.

PS. Keep up the good work TB, if possible please make a few additions sooner rather than later then it won't matter how poor the officials are.   xshake xshake

At the end of the day, beaten by a better team, perhaps TB should be looking to the youth of the team and giving them a try. xwhis xwhis xshake xshake

Spoke to a few Sutton fans on the train to London and they said 'it was never a penalty it was outside the box and just a coming together'.  How can one person out 1000+ see an incident so differently? Besides that, I thought up until that decision we could have squeezed a point out of Sutton today but they were a stronger side.  Didn't understand the booing at half time by a minority but I guess the booing at half time was aimed at the referee. Mind you like the majority of Darts fans I never understand the need to boo your own team, how does it help!? I thought Rob Haworth put in an excellent shift, first time I saw Cody play and impressed by his potential.  I know our squad is a little thin but I do feel that our full backs need a bit more protection as for set pieces it is almost like two years ago when this was a problem for us.  I am sure we will be o.k.  COYD.

We just have to accept that the minority of 'fans' pay their money and are entitled to their opinions. However, the majority of true Darts fans were right behind the side today.  Sutton didn't really let us settle and I though that they were always going to score first. OK performances all round, but our wide players never really got going and we should have made them pay for playing a hgh line. We didn't release Cody or Rob often enough. All in all I thought Sutton just edged it - might have been a different story with Guesty and Lee.

As for the Pen - I had a good view of it. A bit harsh, but a trip by Scouse I am afraid. More a coming together as has been said and the ball was already heading for the bye line. Wouldn't have been so bad in itself as a decision by the Ref had we not got a clear cut pen in the first half - and bu**er all from him throughout the game.

Onwards and upwards, we are too good to be where we are in the league and I am sure results will pick up again.
