14th November 2008 Notes
« on: November 14, 2008, 01:33:03 PM »

This time last week I was looking forward to naming the same line up that played so well against Oxford and in our game against Harrow. I felt things were moving in the right direction and again we had an opportunity to maybe finish the game in the top ten if we could secure a win away from home.

With Lee unable to play through illness, losing John after five minutes and James just after half time it wasn't to be.  Although I felt we did ok first half, the second half was a welcome to the Ryman League display that you cannot take things for granted, you have got to earn the right to win games or be punished which is what happened.

This week I have released Nick Barnes and Ray Powell, these are difficult decisions that managers have to make. I don't think that I have to go into all the in's and out's about every decision that I make but yes it could save the club money. It could also allow me to improve the squad in different positions which I feel is a priority at the movement. I would like to wish Nick and Ray all the best for the future and thank them for their help during the season.

Tomorrow we have a very tough game against Sutton a team who are below us in the league, but with many games in hand. After watching our opponents this week, I feel they are the strongest side I have seen in the division this season so far.Its going to be a good test, one that we are going to be up for.

On the injury front James White will have a late fitness test, John Guest is doubtful  and Lee Noble is suspended. We could be a bit short on numbers but these things happen.

Danny Barber had his operation Tuesday and all has gone well,he is due out of hospital today and will be up at the ground in the next couple of weeks. Steve Norman will have another game with the U21's and hopefully he will get on ok.

Thanks for your support
