I beleive the Legend that is Teddy Ansell, hung up his boots due to injury, if that is what I remember hearing a couple of years back.

Constructive criticism?? Don't get it. If it's still criticism, how is it constructive?

He has certainly had a lot of injuries since he went to Redhill. When I spoke to his father towards the end of last season he had turned out for another Sussex League side as a favour to the manager, but had again picked up an injury.

Teddy in the end was out of his depth as the team progressed. But I felt for him in his last days, with an unforgiving crowd baying for TB to get him off the pitch.
These were people that suddenly appeared at our new stadium, and not the people who had stuck by the team in the dark days.Teddy was a bright light in a Dartford side that struggled from season to season, and I was a supporter that did want Teddy to leave the pitch, if only to spare him from the crud he got from those people. I felt for him.
I wonder what the crowd would have thought of Tostao, or if even he'd have made the grade.

i have no doubt that the kwashi we saw would have graced  PP IN the BSS as he oozed class , teddy ansell always gave 100% and real fans appreciated that and was popular amongst real fans although he never [ consistantly ] made the grade !!!!!!!!

Injury delay frustrates Gills striker Cody McDonald

Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler says that striker Cody McDonald is getting increasingly frustrated by his injury problems.

The 24-year-old arrived on loan at Priestfield from Norwich in the summer but sustained a foot injury during a pre-season friendly in France.

"He's really frustrated - he's chomping at the bit to get back training," Hessenthaler told BBC Radio Kent.

"But we've got to be careful that he doesn't get a setback."

The manager continued: "We've got to make sure he's right and I believe next week will be the start of good things - we'll get him back on the training ground.

"Hopefully by the Morecambe game we'll have a bigger squad to choose from.

"That week we've also got the Johnstone's Paint Trophy as well so with three games in a week that could game could be a good run out for Cody."

Not exactly "ex", but Adam Burchell is back on loan with Tonbridge Angels apparently.

Last Saturday was not a good day for last season's central defensive partnership. Jamie Coyle was sent off for two yellow cards, the first for kicking the ball away. Adam Flanagan took the direct route, a red card for punching a player.

I'm not sure that Coyle has ever been sent off before.

We know from the last match away at Aveley what a sweet right hook Flanners has got. Nice to see he's been keeping up the punchbag training! :-D

Even so, I'm pretty surprised Flans found himself on the giving end of a chinning again, he genuinely seemed disappointed with himself after last time  :embarassed:
