RikyB, you are correct, according to this quote:

Quote from: Wikipedia
They were transferred to the Southern League, winning the title in 2000, and went fully professional in 2001. In their first season as a professional club, Boston won the Conference and were promoted to the Football League.

When I was in the bar before kick off, I was chatting to a couple of Dover fans and I pretty much predicted the game....we have some great talent up front and are good for a couple but we cant plug the opposition attacks and so we tend to let a few more in then we score...Doh!

I reckon there were more than 250 away fans on Saturday but to be fair, there were alot of Dover fans in the Dartford end (so to speak), that was obvious when the first equiliser went in.

I think we played well and were unlucky not to win it or at least come away with a point! Lets hope we can pick up a few more points on our travels in the coming weeks and try and get out of this position were in (which I dont think reflects how good a team we are).

PS what was really annoying was listening to radio Kent after and the presenter said 'Been a great day for the Kent teams....except Dartford'! Git.

Not sure if they will turn pro but I can safely say Dover will be in Conference South next season!

Also not really interested in the comparisons between what we have and what they have....Not sure if the DAFC set up is sustainable that is up to the club, chairman and Hessie but I would much rather have their league position than ours that I can say!!

It is usually a great day for Radio Kent when they manage to go a whole show without getting a score wrong but that is usually a rare occurence!

Re: the "we're louder than you" debate, as someone who sat in between the two sets of fans I can say  the irony is that both sets of fans made plenty of noise.

To state the obvious, when you're singing, it tends to drown out the opposition fans. The Jolly Boys do seem to be in decline volume-wise, but I think that is because under Walker (the managerial equivalent of driving with the handbrake full on) team desperately needed all the help they could get. Under Hess the football is so like a dream that you just have to sit back and enjoy.

agree here we could nto hear each other saturday and we jsut drown each other out at the minute. neither team has the number of singers to outsing each other properly you would need at least 1000 singing to do that
