i have just come back from an unexpected trip to cyprus,i do know some of you and feel as if i know many more so i would like just like to share with you the sad news that i lost my dad who was 86 years old and still farming to his last day like an old trooper.he went back to cyprus after he retired here after 33 years of work and started to farm as if he had never been away.he died in peace and with no pain.
i was really looking forward to the carshalton game and reading of the three points really made me happy.

I’m so sorry to hear your sad news Rambo but it sounds like he fulfilled his wishes by returning to Cyprus. Out of interest did he ever watch the Darts?

Dear Rambo.

I too am sorry to hear that you have lost your dad.  Mine died over 20 years ago, and even now I miss him.  He introduced me to DFC when I was only 3 years old.

Despite your loss I hope you have a good Christmas.

thanks chaps for your words, really appreciated, when i read about yor dad falling dartmouth, i went cold,i am glad all is well now.and Dj John your posting really raised a smile, even a laugh.he could not see the point of football or any sport but he loved the old fashioned pro wrestling on world of sport and spent many years cursing mick mcmanus and adoring big daddy.he knew and accepted i loved football and in particular DFC , he couldnt pronounce dartford so he called it dudford .he knew everything went on hold so i could watch the darts and whenever it came up in conversation that i had just been to dudford he asked if i went te see my aunt (his sister) first and very often i did and that made him happy.
sorry all i didnt mean this to be private condolencies thread.

Rambo, having lost my grandad a few years back, who was also Cypriut, I know how happy he was returning "home". He would have relished the years. Condolences

BTW, funny thing is, he never once took me swimming ( or football DJ John :-D), but as soon he he got back to Cyprus he went swimming every day  xshrug Funny how they seem to go home and want to get active. Did your father ever take you out in the field and do a bit of planting with you when he was here? :-D

Constructive criticism?? Don't get it. If it's still criticism, how is it constructive?

Lost my dad 39 years ago he collapsed and died whilst I was talking to him as he got changed ready for us both to go to an away game in Essex to watch the Darts.

The only thankful thing was that it happened before we left home and who knows he might be watching the Darts now now at P.P. so I bought a brick for him just in case.

My sincere sympathy to you Rambo on your loss especially so close to Christmas.
