I've gone for Cody as MOM although I agree that Jamie Day had a fine game - one of a number of grand performances from him recently. I have taken the view that Cody's three goals won us the game and outweighed the silliness of collecting the second yellow card. I thought that it was an entertaining game too but take away the Cody effect and we would have been the poorer for it.

I too am worried about the needless bookable offences situation but dont want to be too down on the team after two excellent away victories against top six opposition.

Is it me, or was Noble playing a role similar to that of Dafter's towards the end of the second half???

Take cody out of the game and who would have scored those goals at ci cos (imo) there isn't anyone at Dartford FC at the moment that would have been quick enough to get on the end of those balls. Thats why he has got my vote, surely people must see this (and not take a 10 mins out of the 90 mins played into the equasion). I know i've talked about this boy quite a bit but we have all realised that it shows what damage a bit of pace can do in this league. We have been lacking this.  I feel that we should get together and help the lad through a moment of madness, encourage him and help lift his head up instead of sitting on a computer all typing about him like we are professionals, give the boy the praise that i feel he deserves, come on 3 goals, you gotta take your hat of to the boy!   xtip The last thing we need at the moment is the main goal scorer to lose a bit of confidance.  Whilst we are conceeding as many goals as we are, we need this lad to keep scoring, as all we keep going on about is how high can we finish in this league.

The ref was being very petty to send Cody off and i think he was unlucky, the ref like so many of his colleagues displayed zero common sense, the linesman on that side could easily have flagged and informed the ref that the Canvey player was trying to gain an unfair advantage by moving forward the free kick. Actually on 2 occasions in the first half Canvey players 'kicked' the ball away after the whistle had gone, no consistency there!

Cody deserved to be motm because he was the big difference and on another day would have scored 5! Quality striker who gets 3 goals and oozes class, i agree with the Dictator, class above, well done Cody.

Of course there's no denying that Cody was absolutely superb on Saturday and I can fully understand why people would make him MOTM. Cody is a fantastic player, possibly the most exciting we have seen in a Dartford shirt for about 20 years. In my view it was a very tough call between him and Jamie (who was also superb) but the sending off was just enough to tip the balance in Jamie's favour. I changed my mind about 5 times before making that decision and to be honest I would like to have voted for them both.

However, all this stuff about what the referee and the linesman could have / should have / would have done and talk of inconsistency etc is missing the main point. Referees are what they are, they will continue to be inconsistent and make mistakes from here until the end of eternity and if we could just start using a bit of common sense we could cut out a large proportion of the stupid cards we have received and thereby save ourselves a lot of trouble. Fail to accept this simple fact and we will continue to have half the team suspended.

i thought that jamie day had a very good game but NOT superb ,wasnt he part of a midfield that got hopelessly overun for 20 minutes in the 2nd half and their 2nd goal came from the No2s run down his side of the pitch

its a game of opinions and anyone who genuinely thought that [ technically] jamie day was MOTM then fair enough but to downgrade him for a mistake [ it will be the naughty chair next !!] seems a  " tad OTT "

"and the man of the match is...... Canvey number 4 !!!!"..lol    yeah right .......... what a farce :?....

On the Canvey Island website, it says that:

Quote from:  David Powell, Canvey Island F.C
YAN OLIVA: A solid defensive performance, capped with his first goal for the club.

So that's why he got it...

i reckon the best player for CI was their No2 Tarka Mustapha [ or close ] he rarely wasted a ball and looked good going forward [ made their 2nd goal ] and none of our 3 goals was his fault

he has a good football pedigree and it showed !!!!!!!!!!

Constructive criticism?? Don't get it. If it's still criticism, how is it constructive?

If Cody is suspended for 1 game from monday 5th jan then will it be for the cup game on the 7th at Concorde??

Unfortunatly not, just looked at the FA website and Cody is suspended for 1 game from 10th Jan which is away at Hastings :-( :-( :-(.

In addition we lose Lee Noble for 2 Games from the 3rd Jan 10 Yellows, (Harlow and Cup Game ?)

After consulting with my alter ego , (stoat throttler) I'll be voting for Cody too. Apart from superficial questions (his goals), it's worth pointing out that he may be more likely to stay if he feels wanted and loved, so I'll be voting for him in the next few games too!
