Well what a strange game football is we have had four tough away games, three with a depleted squad, and still come out of it with nine points and our heads held high in the over one.
At Dover we played very well and deserved more than what we got from the game, at Carshalton we played well and deserved the three points and make no mistake the performance away to Canvey was excellent in respect that yes we made hard of it in the last fifteen minutes but before that we should have increased our lead from three to five nil against a team who were fourth in the league on their own patch, that was a good all round performance which set us up the game last night.
When you go to Ramsgate you have to be in the right frame of mind, when you turn up on a freezing cold Tuesday night with a bone hard bumpy pitch you are in for a battle. Sometimes you cannot play the football that you want to and that was the case last night. I felt in the first twenty minutes of the game the players showed that they were up for challenge and in the end in my opinion although not pretty, deserved the three points.
At this stage of the season anything above forty points would have been excellent, we are below that but a little unfortunate not to be a bit closer to it.
The first half of the season has been a massive learning kerb regarding players and the level we are now playing at. I feel the team is improving and above all there is now a belief in what we are doing and what we could achieve.
I would like to thank everybody involved with the club for their support and understanding so far this season and hope the recent results have helped you to enjoy Christmas and make your new years celebration even better.
On behalf of all the players ,coaching staff and myself
HAPPY NEW YEAR
See you Saturday
Tony
