Heybridge Swifts Away (Text/Reaction)
« on: February 04, 2009, 08:46:07 AM »

Well it's wednesday morning and no-one's started the match thread for the weekend so here it is.
I suppose the main question will be will we revert to 4-4-2 or stick with the 5-3-2 now that Cody  xbow xbow xbow xbow has gone?

There's a fair chance the match won't be on ; i got this email earlier:

"At the moment there is a covering of snow on the ground, we need this to melt slowly so the water can drain away, if this happens we stand a good chance of playing on Saturday. Unfortuneatley the local weather forecast is not too good overnight on Thursday with more snow expected. We remain hopeful."

Really hope this game is on,  it's probably the best game we could have had straight after Codys departure.

With Heybridges lack of firepower its a good chance for 3 points and for Cassie to get on the scoresheet and get his confidence up.

Lets keep this winning mentality.

Couldn't agree with you more dooosteveooo. The other side of it is as well, do we really want to go there on a tuesday night in the middle of March? I am sure they will want the game to go ahead as well because of the income they will lose between a saturday gate of around 4-500 as opposed to the 250 or so that a tuesday nite game would have.

for me this is a definite win, even though we lost 3-0 in the ryman cup last year and drew 1-1 at PP earlier this season, i think we will slaughter these lot

I think there's too much sarcasm creeping in here.

Just seen the latest forecast and it appears the South East is going to miss the snow forecast for the next few days.Instead it is going to rain tomorrow, hopefully softening the ground and just maybe giving us a chance of playing Saturday. xcool

Choir, we're gonna have to be at our loudest on saturday, lets give the players the boost and show everybody that Cody McDonald is not Dartford, i'm sure we have more gems in that team

Youcandoit, I think the words should be:

Dartford choir sings this song do dah do dah,
Dartford choir sings this song oh do dah day
You were really man of the Match , last saturday,
Dartford choir sings this song oh Jamie Day .

It is important that we don't suffer a hangover ,which is what happened when Dave Martin left. We have a much better squad now and if we can help Cassie by getting right behind him then I reckon he could get a couple ,but don't anyone think this is going to be easy cause there is NO such thing as an easy game-----------not  in this league. 8-) :-D  xcool xtip

Im not entirely sure Cassy can fill the void left by Cody's departure. I hope he proves me wrong, but i just dont think he fits into TB's strategy at the moment. The problem is, you can adapt the formation to suit Cassy, but then you're risking changing the defensive structure.

I think where he has been out of the team for quite a while now, he is seriously lacking in match sharpness. We need someone to come straight in with all guns blazing. Trouble is, if its not Cassy who is it?? Not trying to be the grim reaper, just interested in other peoples opinions.

As i have said on another thread Cassie will come good but its down to the managerment team what the team formation is.
we dont want long balls we want balls to feet and good passing of the ball give cassie the chance and he will do the rest. I've got faith.
