totally agree who is the bloke constantly moaning about Tony Burman and willing him to get his chequebook out. Doesnt he realise that the players out there who can make a difference at our level are all contracted and wont be moving anywhere until the summert?!?! Also Carley looks bloody good to me one I cant wait to see next season...not a bad signing at all!

Yeah wasnt great yesterday but Margate are young and have 2 experienced pros in Nev & Yorath who know a bit about football so reckon maybe a point earned in windy conditions! The club have fallen on hard times and I hope they stay up this year!

Easy in hindsight but I reckon in Ryans absence Cass should have started up top beside Rob with Craig breaking from midfield to support the front 2! Still another point picked up away from home and if we can keep winning at home then we wont be far away!

ps/ Dont agree Ozymandis Dover and Tonbridge have given us a lesson this year but the Sutton game was a good open game as were the 2 Staines games...and Carshalton are very beatable as we proved pre xmas! In the play offs they are one off games that can go either way!

I had the misfortune to find myself standing behind them in the first half. To be honest they made ashamed to come from dartford. What a bunch of chavs. The foul mouthed women with their tracksuits and tattoos, and the men following on, showing how hard they are, abusing our players. i think we should assign a steward to stand near them at home games, and at the first shouted swear word...........out. i will speak with the powers that be.

Wasn't at the match yesterday, but I see the NLP gave it four stars out of five  :? :? :?

What a shame, also, that there'll be no video clips of the Tommy o.g. Or can someone point me in the right direction for Margate's version (if there is one)?

Kick off for the first half and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The Duke woke me up at half time and his comments were, all one way in Margates favour, wind against us, almost total bombardment on our goal and Andy having to pull off more incredible saves, plus a freak own goal against us.
Forget the own goal forget no rain and it sounded just like Hastings all over again.

Second half though we adapted far better, hopefully Tony had a good go at the players and their attitudes and with the wind with us we had far more of the game.

Lee constantly being chopped down and play being waved on by the referee didn't help the cause and it took two fouls in the box followed by a hand ball before the ref actually blew up for a penalty.

Pressure on Tommy but he cooly put the ball away along the ground into the far corner with the goalie commiting himself early.

More pressures on their goal with a few shots on target and the keeper struggling to hold on to the ball but then a quick breakaway saw an attack against us and a good crossfield ball found their player out on the right wing cutting in towards goal, the powerful shot was saved by Andy as he advanced on Margates player but the ball spun across the face of the goal and with no Darts defenders near him another forward shot home.

All to do again but the Darts picked themselves up and increased the presseure and thnakfully Adam had advanced up the left flank and hit a low screaming shot across the face of the goal into the far corner.

We appeared to be the team looking for the win in the last few minutes but time ran out.

One point more away from home but it would appear that against clubs at the bottom and/or with a bit of wind/rain about we fail to adapt to the conditions quickly and can't seem to play on the deck football for any length of time thus few chances for Craig/Cassie to get into scoring positions, just the reliance on long high balls up towards Rob and he can't win them all the time nor will central defenders let him.

The first half was awful and no I didn't quite fall asleep, but again I see the first few votes for M.O.M. are going to Andy which does not bode well for our defence allowing so many chances.

Still whether we stay with the current formation, are able to get in a couple more players anand/or can still keep winning our home games then we are in with a chance currently lying sixth, hopefully with the teams around us dropping some points to help the cause

It is interesting to reflect on the fact that we have now played all four League matches against Hastings and Margate and have gained just two points, whereas they have four points each against us. They are at present in 19th and 20th positions, so we have to be disappointed with that.

I didnt realise what a good record Margate have at home. I believe the last time they lost at home was Jan 3rd against Dover.

The weather conditions ie the wind in the first hal was horrific. If as was most of our support infront of the bar it was like a mill pond if you walked round the sides other end it was a hurricane ,and Lacey`s throw ins so I think we defended really well in the first half.Thay are not a bad side pass the ball well.

I thought Guesty Flans and Gross played really well Tommy and Coylie not as good as normal

Midfield I think only Jamie Day turned up the others not so good

Up front Rob Howath was as is trying hard running for all the other lad was not at the races for me

We need the other front man Badly and now.We have a chance for the play off`s if we sign a goal scorer.

When we pummel a side and score they go,If we pummel a side and dont score they dont

Again you wont get that goalscorer required at this stage of the season as they are all under contract!
We have what we have!

The top 4 are basically what I though would be up there back in August and if we finish as the best of the rest then that is an excellent achievement this term and an excellent platform to build on!

2 big things to consider:- a totally new team constructed during the season with a change of formation thrown in to boot! As well as this revolution in players, we lost our best goalscorer to league football. Put these 2 things together and that is massive upheaval and we are doing well to be where we are with 10 games to go! Its anyones guess where we finish but we have certainly given ourselves a chance to finish in the top 5!

Lee Noble was My MOTM, he was unlucky not to get a goal, and was very lively in a otherwise lethargic performance. We looked as if we were going to beat them once we got it back to 1-1, but I dunno, we never looked as if we were going to finish it.

I think that fans that dig deep and travel to see their team have the right to have a bit of a moan so long as it is constructive, we do not need that negative crap from people that should know better. I was like the next person, not really impressed with what was put on offer but geez those conditions were tough! Too many draws will wreck our play off hopes but to write us off would be foolish, we certainly have the players to hang in there to the last kick to grab a play off place. In an ideal perfect utopia we would splash the cash and have a great team but wake up and smell the coffee folks it aint gonna happen yet.

We must win our home games and hope to pick up enough away points to make it, fully behind the push, suggest others get used to the idea that this Dartford team will be built patiently and prudently and on budget, certainly no boom and bust!

TB ignore any twa@s, the vast majority are fully behind you wanting the same thing, a Dartford fc that is successful on and off the field.

I hope your not taking the pee dave because of sonys comments about me doing it .

Dave's comment was in reply to my "Unless Margate filmed the match, we missed a fantastic goal from Gross".

Still, we should all blame you for not taking up Ray's offer :)
Just have to look at Dave's pix & listen to the radio commentary to imagine it.
Any more cheek from you rick and you'll suffer as well. xnod xnod xnod

couldnt understand why the darts suffered so much in the first half until went down other end of ground for second half it was blowing a gale.
talk about home advantage  :-o
if we could have hung on to 0-0 until half time, we would have maybe walked away with all three points. but alas it was not to be due to a freak own goal .
second half, looked like tonys little pep talk xwhis seemed to work, as totally different team took the pitch and the rest as they say is history, we badly miss ryan for his creativity I know he can sometimes leave you wanting to pull your hair out but by the same measure he can be supereb and change a game. all in all think a draw was a fair result. tony talking about looking to get someone in this week on his interview with radio kent after the game. so maybe another foward to liven up the darts team . guess its watch this space time again.

Watching from behind teh bar in the first half, we looked awful and the goal seemed really freaky, however, as already mentioned on here, once we went down the coffin end, it was windy as hell and could understand how difficult it must me to get teh ball going. That isnt an excuse for how bad we were because we didnt come out and want to win it but a much better performance in the second half. If only we could have done that for 90 minutes!

One thing I will say is how friendly people were in Margate, the guys on the door let our mate round a priovate entrance because he is in crutches which they didnt have to and there was a group of margate fans behind us that were having some friendly banter with us (apparently the ref is from Ramsgate lol!). I think I know who someone was on about earlier in the thread about people wearung tracksuits and being chavs, same old people I am afraid to say and that is where the booing came from as well at the end of the first half (left side of the goal if yoru behind it).

Dunno about kicking people straight out of a match for swearing, alot of us would have been exited after a long chant of the referee is 'useless'....

I thought the chanting was much better second half, mainly because none of teh MArgate fans came up with us to the other end. At one point we heard a chant kick off behind the bar from the Dartford boys so we joined in at teh other end!! That must have done the job!

Oh and chanting 'were gonna score in a minute' seemed to work a treat as on both times we started it, we scored! Happy Days!

Shame Sutton got a result (but not unexpected) but were still in it so lets get behind the boys and push for that play off place!

I was really looking forward to this game, day by the seaside, turn them over and walk away from Margit with 3 points, in the end we were lucky to get a point.  xshrug

Started off so well. A few beers by the beach, displaying the flag on the sea front (see multimedia forum - 'Darts on tour' for pics  :-D) lunch in Wetherspoons for the fat b@stads and onto the game.

Not the greatest performance but fair play to the lads to keep going to the end and get the equaliser to keep our points tally ticking over.  xbow

As others have mentioned the gale that was blowing down the far end was a shock to the system compared to the bar end where we gathered in the first half. I was wondering why half of their supporters were stood with us and probably explains why we spent most of the first half defending. Second half much better and we got our reward. xbop

My MOTM, Andy Young  xbow kept busy in the first half and unlucky to concede a freak goal.

Hoping for a better performance and result against Harrow on Saturday.
