Good time had yesterday. Very early start. Lots of very sunburnt people. Jack F, Tommy and Paddy Dart should be buying shares in aftersun today  xfinger
People have already commented on the day, I'll comment on the games

Match 1
Things didn't start too well with an 8-0 thumping by "Alans' Fish Bar"! Yeh right, fish bar my arse! They were a team of ringers from Horsham and Shoreham who gave us the run around. Cocky buggers as well! Hope that lanky streak of p*** pops up in the Horsham team this year. I

Match 2
Next up was Brighton and Hove Albion Supporters. I think that was a 3-0 loss, still being shell-shocked from the previous mauling!

Match 3
After that was Stevenage supporters. We fell behind again totally undeservedly and lost Tommy G who got kicked on the hand and had to be replaced in goal by Jack F! In the second half, an imperious equalising strike from Valley Dart into the top left hand corner sent the crowd into raptures. Dartford pushed on for the winner and rattled their opponents, resulting in some heavy handed tactics on one of our junior members of the team. This was dealt with in no uncertain terms by one of the more timid members of DFC supporters team   and the game finished 1-1

Match 4
Worthing up next. Fell behind 2-0 in the first half by some shit defending by a loud mouthed centre back who beared a canny resemblance to me! Second half was all Dartford again and another barnstorming run from Valley Dart followed where this time he coolly slotted into the far corner to make it 2-1. Despite more pressure the equaliser could not be found as the score remained 2-1 to our opponents.

Match 5
Havant & Waterlooville up next, a good set of lads! We moved to pitch 5 which was played on a very steep slope. The wind was now very strong and blew right across the pitch. Dartford played down the slope first half and again had all the play Valley Dart going close and Jr Valley Dart following up to hit the bar! Valley Dart was soon in the action again, this time destroying the goalposts and the keeper in one charge! Then out of the blue a cracking strike from 20+ yards from a ginger tubby lad gave Havant the advantage, and they soon made it 2 as the Dartford defence went missing.

2nd half was all Dartford again as Havant set up base camp at the top of the slope and let DFC attack. Dartford soon pulled one back from Jonny Boy slotting in from close range. Chances came and went with balls flying at the Havant goal (and the allotments 100 yards behind them) but again it was to no avail. Another 2-1 loss!

Match 6
Thurrock up next and back to the relevant "flat lands" of pitch 1. To be fair this was a game of few chances and it ended 0-0.

Match 7
The final match was against the team who'd won all their games in the qualifying tournament so far the "White Hart". They'd even beaten "Alans' Fish Bar" 3-2! It turned out this team was made up of Peacehaven players. The Darts started quite confidently and took the lead when a shot from Ozzie Jr deflected off a "White Hart" players back and rolled into the net. Heroic defending ensued for the remainder of the half with Paddy Dart (annoyingly) being very good in goal.

Second half and it was more of the same. White Hart players now getting very agitated that they couldn't break down the defence. Jordan had a good breakaway but failed to spot the spare player and blazed over. Then another break for Dartford saw the ball squared for Ntobeko who just couldn't force the ball home. Paddy Dart then gave away an indirect free kick for kicking the ball out of hand. And from on the line the ball was cleared.

Then a bit of controversy! Paddy Dart got studded down his calf and the players stopped waiting for the ref to give a decision. He just stood there and a "White Hart" player took the resultant corner and the ball was bundled home to equalise. With only a minute to go Dartford had one more chance but the finish was not forthcoming and the game ended 1-1. The "White Hart" went on to play "Alans' Fish Bar" in the final and won 3-2.

What's the point of semi professional players playing in a supporter tournament? POINTLESS!

Cheers!

Well lets face it they arnt going to win anything else.

On the sunburn front, I have managed to burn my knees? and also the back of my calves and my shoulders, this resulted in me getting next to buggar all sleep last night.

Had a fantastic day at the torny, I had a great night in Eastbourne and a nice day in Hastings today.

I do not actually ache in the muscle department, just the sunburn. Little lily has burnt her face a bit and Mrs jonny boy has burnt her face.

I would be up for playing in another torny as and when.

As long as Fish Bar and Newhaven don't turn up again  xno

I think next year we will have it split.... so a supporters tournament and a Semi Professional tournament.... that way it will be a lot more fair.

I knew you'd come up with that. You're funny if not original

Couple of footnotes.

The legend that was Banksy did not turn up! Cheers! Still hungover from the night before, or was he at Boy Brigade playing on his horn?

Although very thankful for the kit, I was a bit annoyed that it was red! Jesus wept. These are the colours of Welling and Gravesend (no that's not Nobsfleet's new name). Please next time (if there is a next time) let us play in the white!

Tommy had the worst shot of the day. Sailed 20 feet over the bar into some allotments.

Jack F made his best saves whilst he was out on pitch as a defender!

Liam is still annoying

I'm surprised Ossie didn't take Emily out on the pitch with him as there wasn't more than 2" between them all day!

Right, Im off out for another 6 a side game.

Cheers!

Well done to the chaps for representing the Darts.

As Valleydart says, what's the point of having semi pro footballers in a fans tournament, just puts people off from going next time.

These match reports sound like good content for a DFC match programme. Perhaps Jason should write alternative match reports for the 1st team, much more witty than the usual "press" reports.

Eg:

".. and Coyle hoofed it out of the ground, smashing the windscreen of a silver car belonging to himself. Still, his personalised plate was still intact - Phew!"
- or sommit like that.
