Why? HIPs were such crap that banks/building societies were still insisting on surveys (at borrowers' expense) anyway.
Not sure if this was directed at Kev or my response but what their saying is, sellers do not need to do it but buyers still have to. So If your selling, you still have to do one for the property your buying and of course, if your a first time buyer, thats £200 - 300 you have to find on top of the 30% deposit providing you can get a mortgage in the first place!
