I had an email from Gavin at Met Police this morning:
"Gary,
Hope you are well. Gary, I know it always seems to be the good people of Dartford but on past experience, who better.
I'll explain, Lee Gledhill is our right back and a local lad to Dartford, on Sunday he is completing the London to Brighton bike ride in aid of the Heart Foundation.
Tragically in a cruel twist of fate, Lee and his Partner lost their unborn baby earlier this week due to difficulties with the baby's heart.
Lee is understandably devastated but is still finding the strength to complete the bike ride which he was already completing prior to knowing about the complications. Lee is now even more determined which tells you a lot about his character.
In stead of a collection like Jack Brown Appeal, we will donate money from the entrance fee. The entrance fee for tomorrow is £5 for Adults and £3 for Children. From that the Metropolitan Police Football club will donate £1 from every entrance fee to Lee's bike ride.
We all look forward to seeing you tomorrow and hope all is well at Dartford and if I don't speak to you, good luck for the season.
Gavin. "
Hopefully we'll have a few Darts fans there to help him out
