Author Topic: Dartford vs Welling - MATCH OFF TUESDAY/RESCHEDULED THURSDAY 23rd  (Read 12288 times)

Well here's the match thread for tuesday nights game. With Young and Dingri out injured, I assume we will see Sam Mott and Tony K sharing the keepers duties again (Deren has been on trial with Sittingbourne this past week) Then it's any other 10 from 16 or so  xshrug xshrug xshrug Hopefully we can get a decent crowd on what is a 'local' match for Welling.

Post hijack by Gary:

UPDATE: 08.10

The club cannot access the website because the main access point is at the club, and the power is down. Dave Skinner has been on the phone to EDF and they said there "may be temporary power between 3 and 6 today" but they can't guarantee anything after that, and earliest indications are that the power won't be back until morning.

Obviously, this will mean the game is off but the club will make the decision at around lunch-time and I'll get things on here as soon as I know.

Update: 12:18

MATCH POSTPONED TONIGHT DUE TO NO PROMISE OF POWER

defiantly looking forward to this one. should give us a good idea where we are as a team. playing a team in the league above and also local so would expect a good crowd. defense has been playing well but the sounds of it so im going for 2nil to the darts.

I'm sure it's set to be a toughie, what with their 2-0 win over Gills yesterday.

If anything to go by, the Welling match wont be that easy, they beat Gillingham 2-0 in a friendly the other day.

i agree with you there  xshrug
£10 is too much for a friendly against Welling
i would think £6 would be better and get more fans along
what we loose on the gate im sure we would make up with food and in the bar

Ok so its £10 which is wrong in my opinion, its only a friendly!

Moan over and another warm up game with important Darts players missing with injury/holidays, so not sure how we are going to gauge 'where we are' in this one. For me its still all about fitness and getting into the required tactics and moves etc. The games are coming thick and fast so loads of ro.tation please, keep em fresh!

Result not important so not a must win game, peaking for Horsham with a fully fit squad is the order of the day

Agreed , the early prte season games are ALLabout getting the guys fit and some touch back BUT my view is that the last 3 [ preseason] games should be basically our 1st team getting into the formation and winning games ,  thus being tuned up mentally and physically to hit the road running for the 1st league game to ensure we get a great start

I dare to suggest this wasnt the case last pre- season ?????????

watching with interest

I'll be interested to hear the reports from the remaining friendly games as I'm going to miss them all.  It was impossible to to draw many conclusions from the Met Police match with several players returning from holidays and so many substitutions.

The Welling game is another opportunity for the new recruits to fit in and for fitness to return.  We should soon start to see the most probable formation emerging.
