The reports are mixed. Initially only a number of the western parts of Dartford were said to have been affected (i.e those nearest Bexleyheath, Welling, Northumberland Heath etc). But the BBC report quoted in the Miscellaneous forum reports that Darent Valley Hospital was affected and had to go onto back-up generators.... and DVH isn't far from PP, is it? (And it's to the east of PP - i.e. even further than the source of the power cut). So.... watch this space?

Still no power on East Hill. EDF told my neighbour 2 days last night and LBC are now stating anything up to Thursday.

Hopefully someone from the club might be able to post on the main website or on here at some point during the day.

Or they could bring kick off forward no need for any lights then......

If there's no power, I think they'll struggle to get on the main site. The other problem is that mobile phone coverage has been knocked out (at least East Hill and into the town anyhow) so if they've not got any landlines working or mobiles, who knows?

And the kick off thing wouldn't work - health and safety for the electricity for the building etc.

I hope whoever did this gets a come-uppance.

UPDATE: 08.10

The club cannot access the website because the main access point is at the club, and the power is down. Dave Skinner has been on the phone to EDF and they said there "may be temporary power between 3 and 6 today" but they can't guarantee anything after that, and earliest indications are that the power won't be back until morning.

Obviously, this will mean the game is off but the club will make the decision at around lunch-time and I'll get things on here as soon as I know.

Latest from EDF website:

Quote
EDF Energy engineers have worked throughout the night to continue emergency repair works, following the fire which caused serious damage to high voltage electricity cables in the Dartford area at lunchtime yesterday, resulting in the loss of electricity supplies to thousands of customers across the Dartford, Crayford, Bexleyheath, Erith, and Orpington areas. Four major electricity circuits have been badly damaged, as well as a cable bridge over Dartford Creek.

Police are investigating the possibility that the fire was started by unauthorised personnel interfering with the cables.

Power supplies have been restored to a number of our customers by switching to alternative connections, and generators are being deployed to key sites where possible.

In addition, limited alternative supplies were established overnight which we hope will enable us to supply power on a temporary basis to customers in different areas at different times during the day today. This will be on a rota basis so that as many people as possible will have access to power for a period of three hours at a time, before switching supply to another area. We aim to supply areas including parts of Crayford, Bexleyheath and Erith in this way. Unfortunately the alternative supply is not capable of providing sufficient power to all our customers at the same time, nor will we be able to provide power to all affected areas in this way.

At the peak of the incident close to 100,000 customers were without power supplies. We have managed to restore supplies to about a third of customers and the rota connections will help provide temporary supplies to more customers while we continue repairs.

Our priority is restoring power to all our customers as quickly as is safely possible, and we continue to work on a full restoration of power supplies. However, this is a complex and difficult situation and it is unlikely this will be completed before tomorrow morning.

For information on rota connections and on the latest estimates for restoration of supplies, please contact our Emergency Contact Centre on 0800 028 0247.

We do appreciate people’s patience and apologise to everyone affected.

Don't know whether it would be logistically possible for both team to play tomorrow night, but I would guess it is looking more and more doubtful.

Also heard that the DA1 area won't even be getting the temporary power according to the EDF phone line so we'll be down until at least this time tomorrow xshake
