VCD pre-season thread

Can anybody confirm for me, please, (a) that VCD are now back at their previous ground in Old Road at the top of Crayford Hill and (b) what time kick-off is - the piece of paper handed out by the club with the other friendly dates and times says 7.45 pm but the NLP yesterday said 7.30 pm (??)

^^ perhaps you thinking of The Crabble, in which case its a the entire pitch sloping down to one side  xgiggle xno - VCD's does have quite a nice pitch though and if there is a tilt then it wasn't immediately noticable.

Pitch is perfectly level and looked better than Dartford's when we played them last season. The groundsman was serving behind the bar too  :-)

They shelled out a few bob at start of last season to have it relaid. There is a bit of a slope, but not enough to worry about. However, our reserves played them at the fag end of last season and it was a complete dust bowl! Players quite rightly had the hump. So I sincerely hope the groundo's done the business. Bar is ok as is the tucker. If it's crowded, watch out for the concrete slope leading into the bottom car park.

As per the VCD website it is definately a 7.30 kick off. Evidently Crayford is in a different time zone to the rest of the country!!

Named after the engineering firm Vickers (now long defunct, unfortunately), whose main local site straddled the Dartford/Crayford border down Maiden Lane.

I remember watching the factory burn down, was sitting on the roof of the garages on the opposite side of the river with my mates.
