A lot of effort in the first half from us but with little in the way of an end product.

Second half Bradbrook and Haworth teamed up for two near identical goals with Bradbrook whipping in curving crosses from the left wing with Haworth scoring 2 diving headers.

Sean and Isa looked a good combination on the right side and James White, who in my opinion is probably our most improved player so far, scored our third with a well driven goal.

Must say that Mott has one hell of a long kick on him which could prove useful if we keep him.

VCDs pitch again looked fantastic, and I must say that they looked a reasonable team who like to try and pass the ball. Hope their season goes OK

Very boring and flat first 45 minutes but fortunately after the break we just upped the tempo and ran out very comfortable winners. The only real concern was the formation with 2 big men up front. The first half showed it was too easy for them to get isolated without support and as neither of them are blessed with great pace it was a struggle.I believe the first half team was close to TB's line up for the Horsham match. xnod

You may be right but i hope the formation isn't, i don't think three centre halves is what TB will play and i hope that Ryno plays out wide as he is never as effective when he plays more central.

Game we never looked like losing, but first half we never looked like scoring. Flannagan and Coyle look good at the back, and the more I see Bradbrook I see a real quality player. Hope Lee is back soon to give us that extra bit in midfield, then basically any combination of the squad should get us the results we need and give us a better start than last season.

I must confess I hadn't seen much of Eliot Bradbrook so far - in fact I didn't even realise it was him out on the left wing. I kept thinking "Who's that bloke out there doing what Ryno's supposed to do?", but two crosses and two goals later I didn't care any more!!!

I think it will be 4-4-2 for the big one as that first half at VCD was surely a formation for a tough away game, we are blessed with some really good strong players this time around and agree with WW, ryan needs to be where he belongs out on the wing supplying the ammo for big Rob. Tait looks class but have concerns wether Rob and Tait can be effective together, we will see.

TB has a selection headache with some tough decisions to make because he will have to leave quality players on the bench. The midfield looks strong and who will be the central two? Daisie, Dafter? White, Burns? Noble to come!

We looked a class above VCD last night never really troubled and i am relieved that Ryan escaped unscathed after a nasty challenge from their outclassed number 2 who like 2 or 3 of his colleagues forgot it was a friendly! The ref was weak but that is the norm these days.

So its all going well in pre season and Saturday should show us TB's preferred starting 11 and as its a freebie lets hope there are some newbies that will want to come back.

Agree with Kebabus & Johndfc on the question of tait & robbie up top. We've had 8 pre-season outings and by now your'e looking for some understanding from attacking players and cohesion at the back. I'm sure TB knows what he's going to two in a couple of weeks and must be over the moon with robbies commitment and fitness. Tait nowhere near fit I'm afraid...can see the quality in the guy, but rob & even ryno were doing his donkey work for him and he was too often seen playing statues. Also plain to see what Burchell brings to the game when he came on..defenders cant live with that turn of speed and thought. Well done Adam Gross, great performance and Bradbrook excellent also.
Have to agree with the Duke..I cant see past his preferred starting 11 for Horsham. Oh, and well done VCD....look like a tidy little gang and should do well this year.

the 1st half was 5 - 3 - 2 with both full backs " bombing on down the wings " ,  the bit i cant get my head around then is  where do ryno and bradbrook play as kebasus says ryno is lethal out wide but NOT in centre midfield although i understand bradrook is also able to play centre midfield [ instead of ] ?????????

dont have any problem with it - just intrigued    !!!!!!!!

UP THE DARTS

nb IF playing 3 centre backs then hope 1 of them is beales

If we only play TWO centre backs, I hope one of them is Beales - he's a class player.

Hopefully 5-3-2 was just an out and out experiment!
