Kingstonian Match Thread 25th August 09
« on: August 22, 2009, 05:24:04 PM »

May I just say that I have never started a match thread, and as I'm sitting at home during the Hastings game, I thought I'd give it a go.
Everything bodes well for maintaining our one hundred% start, as Kingstonian have got off to a stuttering start. But be warned!!! I seem to remember another side doing exactly the same last season.
Confidence is high in the camp and with the fans. Lets hope for another win on Tuesday, and that Jamie Day manages to keep out of the ref's book.

Great time to be playing this match, Kingstonian are really struggling at the moment and will not be looking forward to coming to PP. If we play the way we have been then this should be 3 points but we must not underestimate them.

dont think so, think he is in the ryman south with someone, always had the
look of a top draw player but lacked effert and confidence!!

I think this game wont be a big win for the Darts as they are in the same situation
as we were last season keeping the promotion winning team together and not strenthening
the defence which cost us at the start last season. im sure they will ring the changes for this game
and play up due to the suroundings! apparently Pearce who used to play for WHam has said he wants
only to play as a striker at the Kings!! im sure he will be in defence come Tuesday after Saturdays performance!

He is with Godalming Town: http://www.godalmingtownfc.co.uk/Site/penpics.html

"Phil is in his second spell at the club after signing from Kingstonian.  He scored 4 goals in his 14 appearances last season and regularly terrifies opposition defences with his runs".

They will come out fighting so a nice early goal will be what were looking for, if we can kill it off in the first half I will be happy as larry (whoever he is). I reckon however, they will want to impress and sort out their poor start to the season. Deffo wont be an easy game. Still going for 4 nil though  :-D

If the players start looking at those odds and think it's going to be easy then that's when we're likely to come a cropper!

One thing that became apparent last season is that this Premier division is nothing like the Ryman North and there are no crap teams that just roll over and die and every win had to be hard earned.

We should approach this game as if it were the hardest we are likely to play all season, because for all we know it might be, and when it's over we give the same respect to our next opponents and our next and so on.

Confidence in ourselves yes, but disrespect or under-estimate our opponents at our peril.

Hastings United, Heybridge Swifts, Harrow Borough.
All bottom of the table last season when we played them and look what happened.
At least by the time we got to Ramsgate in April we'd worked it out.
Please dont let us become dismissive of any team in this league.

Am I the only one here who is slightly nervous about this game.

Kingstonian have had a torrid start to the season conceding 14 goals already. We are top of the league and to me, this game represents a banana skin waiting to happen. Kingstonian will come to PP tomorrow with nothing to lose, they are expected to to be beaten which may make them dangerous.

If the boys play the way have during the first 3 games then we will win, but if the players think they only have to turn up tomorrow and the pionts are our, then the game may be a little closer then some of the scores predicted so far.
