Although we were caught cold at the start we came back at them immediately and Burnsie hit the bar almost from the re-start and he then hit the side netting moments later when he was played through one on one with the keeper but ran too wide.

I think we can all understand Tony's reasons for playing Taity instead of Rob be it to keep the squad happy or with rotation or because of the number of games in a short period.

But as others have said playing the ball over the top which would have been head/chest high to Rob, it had Taity struggling to get off of the ground and if it was played for him to run onto then he was lacking the pace probably due to the lack of fitness.

Second half Taity came more into the game with ball to feet passes, but it was only when Rob came on that we really looked dangerous and apart from the goal ((those of us behind the goal were sucking at the ball to help it over the line) we were unlucky not to get a winner with several cracking saves from their keeper and a goal bound shot which hit a defenders head on the line and shot out for a corner.

I would take the draw as Wealdstone were dangerous in the first half and could have had more goals and we remain undefeated with the challenge of Hornchurch to come on Monday, hopefully with Rob in the starting lineup.

I hope that Whitey doesn't have a bad injury and that he will be in contention again soon.

Well, it's a game of opinions. And I totally agree with the opinions of Mr Gaz & Gary Stella. ( And if truth be known, TB in the dressing room at half time)
We played that first half like a pub side out for a training session! ( bar the ever working jamie Coyle). Sorry, but I'm not convinced by Tait as yet, not so much in match fitness but in technical ability and awareness. Hope I'm proved terribly wrong. Last 20 when we kept up the pressure, the game was screaming out for the Pace of Burchell before ban kicks in. Their two wide backs would have been well exposed. Reckon we made them look a lot better than they actually are. ( bar the no 9, keeper and excellent no 5)
Lets sort it out at Hornchurch eh lads?

The worst possible start, from which we took almost the whole match to recover. The performance was certainly much better in the second half and especially after Rob Haworth came on. I thought Jamie Coyle was very good throughout.

Must have been your unlucky day, you lost a couple of letters from that second sentence aswell.

If every one is going to have a big moan about the spelling and the data lost on the disks
is this better!

From the start they had two players on the right wing who sprinted towards our goal, think they did there homework on previous games and saw we have been slow starters in our games, to me they had a plan that worked and got that early goal. if so fair play to them.

wrong decision to not play super robbie upfront from the start

especially as i dont mind paying taits high wages for him to just sit on the bench

Waaaaayyyyy too hungover to even think about posting any reactions on Sunday, but here's to bank holidays and bank holiday games  xbow

2 days on and tbh not feeling too bad about the game, taking away (but not dismissing) the ridiculous early goal. If not for that, no one would be complaining following a 1-0 win.
Ok, Wealdstone were probably the better team in the 1st half, but it changed significantly for the second and their keeper did have to pull off many decent saves to keep his side in it. I didn't actually think he was guilty of much time wasting, just that there spells where we did see an awful lot of him.

Won't be taking bets against Rob H starting later against Hornchurch - he must've been very frustrated on the bench - I understand the decision by TB, but I won't sit on the fence - I agree with whoever it was (everyone???) who said don't change a winning team.... If Rob H was too knackered for today after a full game Saturday, the fair enough, but the boy's fitness looks better than ever this season.
