The bar was a disaster back in March but I did not have any problems with it on Monday and was served straight away. So once again I say well done to Hornchurch as they had clearly put some lessons learned into place.

Mr Kev seemed to have some strange ideas about Dartford fans and indeed away fans in general but I thought it was possible to treat him as the cabaret rather than getting too upset by him. At times he was marginally more interesting than the match.

Ha ha! Fair do's! Our experience of HX's very own 'Mad Kev' (R.I.P.) was limited to half time only, whereby he proceeded to call Paulw very bad things and spout other various bs about our club and it's fans. It got tiring pretty quick, but in retrospect ST, I can see how at times he could have been more value than the game  xchurchill

Mikey I agree that sometimes he was offensive. I just enjoy a good old eccentric. At times I was gazing with rapt attention, hanging on his every word.

Just to put the record straight, that Kev is unwelcome everywhere, even we don't know how he gets into our Gaf and please accept our apologies for his total lack of courtesy and good manners. Best bet is to just ignore him. The rest of us have big admiration for you guys and thanks for using our Clubhouse with real glasses!
Looking forward to our visit to yours in November.
By the way have you sorted the Burgers out because there weren't any two years ago. Also, are all your 300 stewards still there oh and do you still allow supporters into our Directors bit.
I have kept quiet on these matters up till now but as it's NLF these things do happen and to both clubs.
Wish you well in your quest for the league which I think you will win at a canter so prepare for the longer trips to Dorchester, Weston, Newport and Weymouth.

To answer two of your questions:
1. Yes, we do do burgers now; but they are prepared in the kitchen, then brought round to the refreshment "pods" in insulated bags and kept warm in a heated cabinet - not fried before your very eyes - but are none the worse for that. We also do hot dogs and pasties, but no pies any more (....why?). Chips are also available, but only in the bar (and usually subject to some delay, depending on the queues for beer etc).
2. And yes, we have sorted out the stewarding - far fewer of them for normal league games and far more customer-sensitive (except, of course, in cases of extreme behaviour).

Jim, to answer a couple of your questions. Yes we do now sell burgers (very tasty as well) in the bar along with chips, pasties etc etc and if you are in there early enough then theres a good selection of food available on the menu. If not theres always the tea bars and some of the catering staff walk around the ground selling food kept warmish in thermal bags along with hot dogs, pasties, sausage rolls etc (no chips though). As for the stewards,to give our directors their due they have reacted over the last season or two and have reduced the amount of stewards to a sensible amount and have got rid of the youngsters that werent doing the job properly. This was down to the cost of stewards, various problems & complaints and realising we didnt need as many. As for the plastic glasses i think this is purely down to cost and the size of gates we get its quicker & easier due to not having to wash them up they go in the bin. Hopefully youll have a better experiance at PP next time and kindly leave the points behind
