The Darts have a real test against Chelmford [not sure about the the city tag], but anyway, one I believe they can match, as long as our current 11 are injury free.  Personallly I'm looking forward to seeing the Darts up against the type of oppostion we will face next year...

Correctamundo stellaman! These are the kind of sides we're aspiring to compete with next season. Chelmsford have taken a couple of decent league scalps already and drawn with Dover...(sorry mate, I don't subscribe to the Dover baiting weekly, ..good ambitious side, managed well & playing decent football, which is what REAL soccer fans want!)
We've started at a greyhound pace, but have eased into a labrador's for last two matches. If we can get back down to it vs Harrow(another toughie) with hopefully the robbie & burnsy partnership back in business....then in 10 days time, chelmsford will see what the football world has been talking about! I reckon at present, from our squad of 22, at least 15 will be able to make the move up, which is a great percentage in any terms. COYD.

i said in an earlier post that i'm glad it chelmsford and NOT potters bar , its a winnable game and i am really looking forward to it

Morning all, its been a while . . . . !

Just to give you a bit of info on Chelmsford - going from the game that we played against them, they are one very good team. We drew 1-1 with them at their place and really we were fortunate to get anything from the game (their goal was a dodgy pen, but then karma prevailed and they had a perfectly good goal chalked off at the end for a awful offside call).

They are a big, strong powerful side who like to get the ball in the box as often as possible. They have a giant upfront, Edmans I think he is called, a real Peter Crouch lookalike who appeared to win every header against us. Oh, and in Hockton they have a real pain in the ass goalscorer!

When we played against them they had a number of players missing through injury (well so did we as well), so we didnt have a chance to take the mick out of Simon Glover who should be well known to Kent football fans.

Their league position isnt the greatest but from what I have seen of the BSS, there are a number of decent sides in it which really can beat anyone else.

Oh, and if you take them to a replay, dont buy any football at their place cos its awful!

nothing personal against potters bar ,  its just that they are deemed to be a  " small club" ,  I'm NOT being a big billy b.....x ,  just that I wanted to see a real rip rawing cup tie and NOT a perceived softie

some fans may want several rounds of " pereceived softies " but NOT me !!!!!!!!!!

hi steve , still keep my watchfuleye on your progress and great to see you are still doing [ very ] well on your limited budget { tic]

really excited by the drawing of chelmsford [ rather than a perceived small club] as it should be a cracker of a cup tie and will give us a real indication of just how far this team [ with a real quality bench ] has progressed as we really do believe that we have a [ realistic] chance of going up

with home advantage it is a winnable game and hockton is class but so far this season our two centre backs have played out of their skin as he [ and edmans ?] will be a severe test for them

it will all be on the day and we will see

ALSO

IF you guys dont go up then next season could be fun with you , ebbsfleet and us  [ with cray or maidstone going up thro the play offs ?? ] ALL in the same league , wouldnt mind a bit of that   but think that you probably wouldnt !!!!!!!

just a final thought , could get you in the f a trophy !!!!!!!!!!!!

No doubt we have the look of a very good side at the moment but certainly not taking anything for granted or getting complacent, IF we gain promotion we will need to improve the squad further to get success at the next level.

Chelmsford will be our toughest test since G + N at their place.

Time for the quieter fans to shout loud and show Chelmsford that we are ready for the step up OFF the pitch.

Havent a clue how much we are spending on players, but I would imagine that Chelmsford cant be far off that. We have certainly been the biggest spenders whilst in the Ryman League, but a number of teams are splashing a bit of cash in the BSS which is making for a great spectacle. However seeing the likes of Nicky Southall and Adam Birchall play is just great, Hess has really signed some outstanding players.

The more Kent games the better - certainly better than having to travel 200 miles or whatever it is to Worcester tomorrow!! Also we have had a rather good record in these games over recent seasons so bring it on!

Chelmsford are certainly a very strong BSS side and it will be a good indication how far you have come and whether you have any work left to do. Lets be honest though, with the resources that you have at your disposal and the players you have signed, you should be up challenging for the Ryman league and I am also expecting you to beat, or at least severly challenge Chelmsford. We have our friends from Welling in the cup - what a pleasant match that will be!

As I said on the BSS Forum but was shot down by "Top Darter", it will also be a big test for PP. I would imagine Chelmsford would bring alot of fans (probably more than we took to PP) and it will be a real test to see how PP copes with a large away following for a competitive match. While you have had massive home followings at PP as well as large away followings for friendlies, the drama of the FA Cup can bring out the best and worst in people.

Best of luck with the Chelmsford match, and also the remainder of the season. I am sure out paths will cross again soon!

Even my Arsenal supporting Premiership mate has told me that this is the tie of the round...Of course he might be slightly biased as I have boring him ever since the draw was made!

Whatever happens it is going to be a great day and I hope Chelmsford bring loads and create a great atmosphere.....and of course we win!!

The real difference between BSS & Ryman Prem is the physical side of the game. The cumulative effect of the physical battles coupled with longer travel times means that teams find it harder to maintain consistent high standards and their results reflect that.  In a one off game against Chelmsford you have every opportunity however expect a lot of pressure at set pieces. Yes Chelmsford have underperformed this season but away wins at Woking and Staines demonstrate what they can do. Good Luck.

great home draw for me, looking forward to it, wont have any problems with a large crowd at pp, last year maidstone had the most by a mile 500, and this year 3000 millwall fans albeit a friendly, bring it on. Up the darts.

Not sure watcher having seen St ALbans last year they were both weedy and pretty poor and that was against last years side when we were just finding our feet

Hampton seemed ok, pretty well organised but very beatable and they finished right up there!!

My only concern with this match is, the players get too 'up for it' and with a tough league match on the Tuesday straight after, I wouldn't like to progress in the cup only to lose the momentum in the league. Saying that, we have a great strength in depth at the moment so I wonder if TB rests some players for Chelmsford due to having one eye on the Tonbridge Angels match.

I am not being pessamistic, just feel League first, Cup second.
