I've been down to Dover, but the place is empty. I reckon the Brazil/England game must be off.

Margate v Wealdstone called off at 2.40.

Long way for the Wealdstone fans to go. You think an inspection a little earlier would have been the order of the day.

Still, I expect they will  enjoy the delights on offer at "Bosnia by the Sea"

be happy that the darts diod NOT play today as along with several other [ dart] lads went to chatham to see them play corinthian casuals [ lost 3 -1] and the wind made the game a total lottery and spoiled it as a spectacle

much rather play [ anyone] without the wind and less likely of an upset

Went down to Welling saw them win 3-0, pitch was very playable, think we need to sort our drainage problems.

Maybe so, G, but walking around Dartford around 3:30pm the wind (and especially when gusting) were enough to unsteady even the stoutest of gentlemen. Duke's comments re. the Chatham game sum it up perfectly ... lottery! Rather it was called off.

I think that is being done at the end of the season.

Duke is spot on with regard to the game being called off with dire conditions at Chatham and although the pitch was perfectly playable, the wind made any hope of football being played going out the window and meant as has been said the game developing into a total lottery.

Excellent day out though with around 10 of us regular posters making the match and spending time before the game chatting away and putting footie to rights, or rather mainly reliving the past and The Duke recalling his first record purchase "Living Doll" by Cliff and playing it on his Dansette record player.

Worse still some of us could remember the words too.

Good to shake hands with O.B. Lew Watts and several of the ex Darts lads before kick off and we appeared to be the only vocal support for The Chats during the game as we stood close to their duggout and got applauded by O.B. at the end.

Got a great welcome from the Chats yesterday and a few comments about what a change it was to have 'vocal' support  xbow xbow Spoke to OB after the game, he sends his regards to all Darts and hopes to see us sometime in the future. As Trev and Duke said the wind played havoc yesterday, and with the ref having to go off injured - shame...... and a wait for almost 15 mins till someone was found that was qualified to run the line, in place of the senior lino who became the ref xwhis xwhis xwhis didn't help. Corinthians ran out 3-1 winners but their 2nd goal was against the run of play and offside. The substitute ref didn't get hold of the game at all and several dangerous tackles on Chats players went un-punished.
Brendon was unlucky with his first touch yesterday otherwise I think the result might've been a bit different. But it was nice to catch up with some of the Dartford 'old boys' OB, Lew, Greeny, Brendon, Razor (suspended) and Brad (injured)

Hastings United v AFC Hornchurch (should be interesrting with gale force winds expected along the South coast!!!)

I still can't believe this match took place; "lottery" was an understatement.  Reminded me of some Sunday mornings at Thong Lane!

Still, well played Hastings who are now 8 points behind us and there's an even bigger gap to third place.  They really have undergone a transformation since we won 3-1 there early on in the summer!

Wind played no part in Welling game, if we had played we would have had to pass it on the ground where we play our best football
