Dartford v AFC Hornchurch 28/11
« on: November 25, 2009, 12:30:24 AM »

Hopefully another 3 points and against Hornchurch . This could turn out to be a very good day with our two main rivals (Wealdstone & Hastings ) both having tough away fixtures

TB will be thinking hard about saturdays line up but really hope robbie plays as he adds that extra bit of experience [and class] to our play and also scores goals 7 [ 1 think ?] so far in the league

see you there for a rejuvenated darts [ 90 mins] performance !!!!!!!!!!!1

Hopefully another 3 points and against Hornchurch . This could turn out to be a very good day with our two main rivals (Wealdstone & Hastings ) both having tough away fixtures

Despite recent "wobbles", the league still looks very good. Hastings are 8 points behind, and we have 2 games in hand. If we assume 4 points from those games, less than our season average, that makes us 12 in front with a vastly superior GD, so as good as 13 in front as far as winning the league is concerned. Canvey, Tonbridge and Kingstonian are all 16 points behind, and we have a game in hand on all of them. Using the above formula we are in reality 19 points above these teams. In their situation would we expect to catch us ?
I believe now Wealdstone are the only other team in the picture, and they have a mountain to climb. If they win all of their games in hand they are still 9 points behind us, and again with a vastly inferior GD, so 10 really. They are currently averaging just under 2 points a game, not 3. All in all i rate Wealdstone as being around 13 points behind us. This is speculating on my part of course, but with a certain amount of "science" thrown in.

I agree with your theory Dave but Wealdstone are also going to have to win the majority of their games they have left to play, draws will be no good to them either which puts us in a very strong position! Makes our visit to them on 05th December a mouth watering prospect and a DOUBLE MUST WIN game for them!

I believe with the way this league has gone this season with everyone below us beating each around 86 points maybe enough which would mean we are almost half way there already...

FIRST things first Hornchurch who gave our friends Chelmsford a fright so this wont be an easy game for us. Need to tighten up in the centre of the park and at the back but not at the expense of our attacking exploits me thinks!!!

Three points on the cards for sure wilkie, but we can expect some nasty tackles and strops if the last meeting was anything to go by!
Wasn't looking forward to this one, as we need to be injury free. ( A bit like playing the met police!)

Tough game again vs a side who drew 4-4 against CHELMSFORD AWAY, hope that everyone is much sharper and that everyone is 100%, we simply must do what we have been doing, playing with heart and a never say die attitude, hopefully 1000+ in the ground and good vocal backing.

Eleven!!!!! Let's just hope they haven't had time to "gel" yet, then! Not that I don't expect the full 3 points - just don't want so many "alarums and excursions" (just to throw in a bit of the Bard of Avon there  /smug), and especially no more injuries and/or red cards, pleases!!

Apparently so...have a look at the line up that played us back in August...you won't find many names the same as in their last couple of matches...don't let their lowly league position fool anyone ....Chelmsford really struggled to dispose of them over 2 legs in the FA Trophy...make no mistake......it will be a tough test for us on Saturday.

I am approaching Saturdays game slightly differently.

I will arrive at PP at around 2.00 and head straight for the bar to part with my hard earned money. At half time, I will make my way into the ground so I am ready for the second half and hopefully another 3 points.

Joking aside, I think it will be a tough game on Saturday and we cannot afford to give Hornchurch any early christmas presents like we gave Bognor and Tooting.

Oh and I wonder if Kev The Nutter will be making the trip to PP on Saturday.
