You need a natural left back who can get forward, up and down, Gross is the only player currently in the squad who fits the bill.

If it aint broke dont fix it.

We miss Bradbrook, plain and simple.

We miss the class of Day.

Look at the league table folks, Hornchurch fluked it Saturday, we need to stay focussed, leave the tinkerman theories on another planet.

I would possibly go with young burgess coyle flans gross, hayes harris daffy burchill, burns haworth. Subs kessle white noble may beales. I know Burchill is a forward but he has the pace weve been lacking on the left, he can back up and help gross out which has been lacking of late and he has the skill and class to beat the full back and get the crosses over.

It’s just a shame Barber is not fit because you could always put Adam on the left side of midfield in the void left by Elliot’s injury. We also need a fit James White who has the quality on the ball which has been missing of late. The question is who do you play alongside James? Daffy, Crouch or Noble.

Just a thought could Ryno play on the left with Harris on the right if so I would have a team likethis

Young
Burgess  Colyie Flanners  Gross

Harris White Noble Ryno

Robbie and Lee Burns

Subs Daffy, Beales, Adam B, May, either Allan Tait or Tony K as the other sub or maybe Crouch

I have one major reservation about bringing Barber back in just because we've lost one match and have shipped a few goals lately. As far as I can remember he has only played about 5 minutes of one match for the first team back at the start of last season (? - correct me if I'm wrong), so for me he would be a bit of an unknown quantity. Has he played any reserve team games as part of his rehabiliation?

As I said “It’s just a shame Barber is not fit” and by the sounds of it he is still a long way off yet. If he was fit it would shore up the left hand side especially when Lee plays there as he tends to drift in all the time and leave poor Adam exposed.

I would go with:

               Young

Burgess Colyie Flanners  Gross

Ryno  White  Noble  Burchell

        Robbie Burns

Subs: Kessel, Harris, May, Crouch, Dafter

I like 5th Seachers idea of Burchell playing wide on the left although I’m still not sure where Lee Noble fits in best. Maybe Crouch will take his chance when he finally gets his run in the team. For me there is no-one who has filled this void since the departure of Jamie Day who run tirelessly for 90 minutes.

Roll on Saturday.

Noble is best in centre midfield but imho saturday will be a very physical game which will suit daffy & harris more than lee as he can get knocked off the ball at times.

thats just it 5th ,we have riches in that department.dont forget TB has not been picking burns to start up front lately.
its just that i like jay mays robust style and harriss is quality at this level.it is a very difficult choice.

i would even consider only playing one of may haworth burns harriss  and tait of course by playing one of these and noble up top, probably harriss and noble and this would allow the option of playing white and bradbrook in the middle with burchill wide left if he is any good there.

if tony needs a xtip he can always pm  me. i sound like a nutter on the loose

w/o wishing to upset Rambo too much I wouldnt play White and believe he should be left on the bench!!

Not mobile enough (just see his clumsy booking Saturday beaten on the turn) and if he is going to play as a holding midfielder which our midfield balance desperately needs then he is not the answer!

However I do think positions are up for grabs so TB may make some changes on Sat which as the gaffer is what he is paid for!! Could be interesting selection on Saturday!!

Lee Burns and Rob Howarth were forming a great strike partnership earlier in the season. I would love to see them start up front together again. Give them a decent service and they'll do the business. xfinger
