current player [ un ] availability suggests IF fit burnsy will play in midfield so big selection headache [ nice one to have !! ] is whether burchell for his pace or tait for his guile plays up front with robbie

both burchell and tait showed against aveley that they are ready for the RLP

I will NOT be at the game due to the 1pm kick off clashing with our Bangladeshi Boxing Day feast !!!!!!!!!

Cant wait for this game hope the weather improves!!!

first of 4 games in 10 days so important to get the momemtum going especially as we play Cray again a week later at their place!!

12 points would be nice but I would take 9/12 from the 4 games!!!

Useless question coming here but looking at the snow yesterday would we still use a yellow ball if the snow was on the pitch or would the old favourite the orange ball come out to play!!??!?

My selecion for the game would be (assuming injuries)

                                              Young

Burgess(Beales)            Flanns           Coyle              Gross

Hayes                          White          Noble            Harris

                                  Haworth        Burns(Burchell)

Tait, Burchell (Kess), Beales(Crouch), May, Noble.

Think Dafter is suspended for this one.

Tait to start with Rob up top for me and Adam to get at least 25mins and also safe in the knowledge that he will be getting starts sooner rather than later due to lots of games coming up in short space of time!!

Burns and Noble in the middle of midfield for me!!

Burchell and Tait were the best players on the pitch against Aveley. with four games in 10 days, i would start with them both up front. Because of robbie's stye of play it would be a big ask for him to start all four games, especially so soon after his injury.

^^ I'm sure that lineup will

Crouch - A very bright young prospect but to throw him into center mid for what is going to be a very important and probably physical fixture is not a good move IMO. Beside, he went quiet when moved from the left into the center against Aveley on Tuesday.

Robbie Haworth/Allan Tait - Worth a try, but IMO its either Burchell and Tait or Haworth and Burns, i think it would be better to have two strikers who bring different qualities to the table playing alongside each other, e.g. Pace against Strength

Can't really complain with your back four or the GK

After looking at the pitch at PP yesterday and the amount of snow on it i can see one very wet pitch on Boxing Day.

Eagle88 said he spoke to someone at the club yesterday and theres a lot of water on the pitch under the snow especially at the car park end and unless the snow clears fairly quickly and gives the pitch a bit of time to drain and dry out then the game could get called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

Hopefully it gets sorted and the game does go ahead as it could create a nice bit of revenue for the club as the Boxing Day games tend to draw a big crowd.

Fingers crossed the club can get the pitch sorted out at the end of the season.

Does the club need help in clearing the pitch to give the game a chance to go ahead?

^^ I was about to suggest that Gilesy, i don't mind being a little pro-active like the Horsham lot in clearing the pitch of snow if necessary. Plus i'm on school holidays  xbop

I think its a good idea if the pitch is in the condition 5th says its in the sooner we can clear off the snow and ice, the quicker the water and moisture can evaporate from the surface

One further point is if you clear the snow too early then you are in danger of having a frozen pitch rather than waterlogged especially with the night time temperatures and parts of the pitch that will get little sun!

Hobsons choice!  Wouldnt mind getting a shovel out and working off the xmas stodge! Desperate for this game to go ahead...would need an early yay or nay though!!

Sorry but my view is Crouch is now ready play and we are not learning anything about the lad while he is sat in the dugout, Dafter and White appear to be a bit off the pace of late.
Crouch for me is a better footballer.

As for Hayes of who I am a genuine fan needs a gentle reminder of what workrate is required at this stage of the season for me his last few appearances have only been okish and a couple of starts on the bench wouldn't do him any harm ( as a wake up ) because we need the guys to really starting fighting for results if we are gonna win the title !
I see Harris as an equal threat down the right - hand side and works hard for the whole 90 minutes, he can also put balls in the box well ask Robbie H  xnod !

Just my opinion and happy for a win whatever way it comes !

a good point ace, but is Crouch ready for RPL football after one performance against Aveley? However one could counter argue that there's only one way to find out and i think you have a point. Perhaps it would be good to give Crouchy some experience and playing time now as perhaps next season in the BSS it might be a bit too late and a step to far?

Perhaps Crouch is a more natural "footballer". A good passer of the ball and one with good footwork. Next season, perhaps a loan move would be in order? Just don't send him to Sittingbourne and let Gary Abbott try to nick him from us and complain about the terms of the move  xshake
